Excellent choices. Purchased some salt and fancy goose bacon… was incredible. They have a lot of top shelf options for top shelf prices, but well worth it for the quality.

Fun gem of a store with knowledgeable and friendly staff and awesome Italian sausage. Besides a full service butcher shop, it is also filled with locally-crafted treats products perfect for host and client gifts. As a busy local realtor, I love the fact I can pop in and out and get ingredients for dinner or to find a quick gift.

Walking into Son of a Butcher is like stepping back in time. This truly, local establishment is filled with knowledgeable and friendly people. I mean come on, who else has butchers, fishmongers, and cheesemongers?! This trip, we walked out with a couple pounds of Grouper and John's Pimento Cheese. You can't go wrong with the quality and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I went to 4 butcher shops in the Birmingham area, and the son of a butcher had by far the most extensive and appetizing selection of meats and cheeses. Their staff were all very knowledgeable and friendly, and answered my questions in depth. I left the store extremely happy 😁 the prosciutto was awesome and paired great with the Brillat-Savarin cheese and gherkins! I'm about to have the a5 wagyu and Denver steak for breakfast! All very fresh and stunning quality, so glad I went here!

A very nice selection of gourmet goods, but know that they are at an appropriate price point. Beautiful cheese and nice meats including in-house dry aged specimens are here, surrounded by little jars of obscure but very interesting foods. You can also stop in for a sandwich. There's no restroom available and the staff are a little hit or miss with the friendliness.

Knowledgeable staff , obviously enjoy their craft … best ground beef you’ll find and perfect chicken breast , don’t skip the sourdough bread on top of the counter .. the best

Seeing the Fresh Meat in there show case but their Steaks were a little Pricey. That's the reason why I went to get a good steak

Bought several pounds of ground beef which used to be excellent but now it’s full of grizzle. I paid cash and was charged a $3 service fee. He S.o.B., how about a discount for being a loyal customer instead of a penalty. I’m going back to NY Butcher
