The Fat Calf Butcher Shop is a local butcher dedicated to providing high-quality, locally raised meats including beef, pork, and poultry, as well as other specialty products like farm-fresh milk, cheese, and baked goods. They emphasize freshness and quality by sourcing their meat from a nearby USDA processing facility. The shop aims to support local ranchers and offer customers a variety of quality meat options.
This place is great!!! My family & I are so glad we found them. It is so difficult to find great quality beef. I was raised on a ranch & I know what good beef taste like. It is criminal what some stores do to their beef. We have stopped buying beef anywhere else & we are going to start getting our chicken here too. Try The Fat Calf Butcher out, you'll be glad you did! Yum! Yum!
We got a brisket from here for Father’s Day. The best brisket we have had! Juiciest most delicious thing! Great people too. Go check them out!
Found a new meat market! They carry beef bacon and more! I will return-as soon as I run out of bacon! The young man was super respectful and helpful. His mom makes the Honey Butter and it’s delicious.
So glad this place opened. Much needed in South Tulsa/Bixby. They have a great selection of cuts, I picked up a slab of spare ribs and a local made rub. They grind their meat and there are no fillers. It almost like like wagu beef. All the beef comes from NE Oklahoma so that is really cool.
So I was super excited when I saw the sign leaving out of the shopping center “a butcher shop” two days later I stopped in since I was back in the area. Awesome place, the lady was super nice and very informative about the products and where they are sourced and how their process works to provide the freshest local products. However the guy was a different level when asked about the ranch that provides the local meats, I thought he would be transparent but not so. It was a tad hostile for my liking. (This is how I felt after the interaction) I only asked so I could do my research. I would like to know how they raise and treated the cattle, I like to know exactly from the source and not just word of mouth because people will tell you anything for a sale. I purchased two pounds of the breakfast sausage one fresh and one frozen and a package of the bone marrow and a single pork chop. I cooked the sausage which was ground that morning and OMG so yummy, fresh taste and the flavors are on point. My go to sausage from now on. The prices are very reasonable. They do have products from I believe Kansas and Texas but those are labeled as such and are in a separate fridge area so you don’t get confused with the Oklahoma products. They have various products from local crafters as well “Herbal Lovin Momma” products are located inside. Which is a plus for me to help local small businesses. They have various kombucha, pickles, hummus, cheese oh and butter that they make in house. You have to check them out! 3 stars for lack of transparency.
Hands down the best thing that’s happened in this town in a very long time. Seriously thank you, just a huge thank you for setting up shop and even better less than a mile away. Quality is a shawty word to place on this meat. Idk what to call this meat soo good and you seriously can’t beat the prices in Biden’s economy.👎🏽 I stumbled upon this Tribal Honey that is to die for, slap that on your bacon breakfast OH MY. Seriously best in town!!!
Something Has Definitely Changed at The Fat Calf Butcher I used to really enjoy shopping at The Fat Calf Butcher. For a while, it was my go-to place for quality cuts and well-trimmed steaks. The person behind the counter back then was a true butcher, someone who clearly knew meat, knew how to break it down properly, and took real pride in the work. Unfortunately, since that individual is no longer there, the quality has noticeably dropped. The ribeyes and KC strips just aren’t cut the same, too much gristle, poor trim, and inconsistent thickness. It’s not just a one-off either; this has been happening consistently over the last several visits. Most recently, I picked up a pound of ground beef that had to be, at best, a 60/40 blend. It was so heavy on the fat it was practically unusable unless you’re trying to render lard. It’s not what I expect from a shop that used to be top-tier. I’m not writing this out of spite. I'm just calling it like it is. Something has changed at The Fat Calf, and not for the better. I hope they get back on track, but for now, I’ll be looking elsewhere.
This butcher shop no longer delivers on its promise of fresh, ready cuts. The case was nearly empty when we visited, and we were told the butcher was “at lunch” instead of having products prepared. Staff seem untrained and the operation feels disorganized. What used to be dependable has become unreliable.
This Oklahoma business is a gem, and I’m so glad it’s close to home. Locally sourced and very fresh and undoctored meat. And locally sourced honeys, jams, breads, milk and eggs etc. Ask the butcher and he always is able to accommodate plus he answers all my questions. Someone mentioned not liking their hamburger….I think it’s the best ground beef I can find….they make excellent burgers with the right amount of fat and lean beef. Support your local ranchers and producers and get higher quality fresh food in the process by shopping here
Amazing place with tons of selection of beef chicken, fish, local cheeses, coffee, and local sourced goodies. Ask for Licia, she has the insight knowledge on everything in the store. If you are looking for clean poultry and beef. This is the place to go.
