I was anxious when I saw the sign a few mknths ago indicating this meat market would open soon. I don't g see the to Gettysburg often but I had a few minutes to spare before they closed yesterday. While I should wait to post this until after I try the Italian meatballs I can't help myself from telling the world that the cheddar brats are the best I have ever had. While I am a brat lover I am still probably an amateur foodie. They brats come in a lack of three but they are long- like one brat is really two brats. Boil them in beer and throw them on the grill and I guarantee you will be posting am even better review than this!
So happy to have The Farmstead Butcher in our neighborhood! The shop is spotless, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the meat is incredibly fresh and high quality. You can really tell they care about local sourcing and customer service. A great addition to our community — definitely worth checking out!
Hands down the best pork I've ever had. I've tried other farms/butcher shops in the area including one with pasture raised pigs that's nearly twice as expensive as TFB and it still wasn't nearly as good. Once you get meat from here you wont be able to go back to the factory farmed stuff in the grocery store. They are also super friendly and helpful. Can't recommend them enough!
My husband and I stopped in for the first time last week and walked away with a great selection of meats. So far, we had the Italian meatballs which were DELICIOUS!! Far exceeded expectations. The team at the store were friendly and helpful as well. Prices are fair and I appreciate the focus on regenerative farming. We will be making a stop here whenever we are in town.
I had my full cow processed at this USDA certified facility. Beau and his team were extremely kind and supportive during my first cut sheet form fill out and proper instructions for pick up and storage of said beef. All boxes of beef were clearly labeled and all the cuts were exceptionally vacuumed sealed! This shop also had a variety of pork chicken and beef products for sale which I picked up some uncured bacon and breakfast sausage links. Very excited to come back to Gettysburg to pick up some processed chickens and sides of hog in the future! Shout out to Beau and his team. 10/10
Purchased a collection of various sausages, ribs, chicken quarters and lamb. Excellent quality and taste. We enjoyed cooking it all over an open fire for an amazing experience. This butcher is quality and highly recommended.
Great spot with awesome meat selections. Happened to cross it on our way to Gettysburg, it's a small farm right on the side of route 97. Happy to have met Sam, great guy with cool stories.
This is a great local butcher in Gettysburg. We always get our meat from them as you know where it came from. We place our orders and even at pickup, I grab a few more things. My favs are the sausage (so many varieties), chicken, burgers, beef, pork belly . . . okay, everything there. I have done smoke pork belly a few times for pulled pork. I used a dry rub and after several hours, it came out great. We can't say enough about them as our freezer shows. We actually got a 1/2 Turkey this year for Thanksgiving. We did a dry brine and it came out so juicy.
We love having The Farmstead Butcher every Saturday at the Mount Vernon Triangle Farmers Market in DC!
Very high quality goods, not your everyday shopping experience. If you want healthy options, very tasty sweets, organic choices, delicious tasting foods, etc. you won't go wrong here. Plus you are supporting a small local business.
