Finally found a real butcher that is willing to cut the "oysters" out of chickens for me. I love chicken oysters and most places today have no idea what I'm even asking for, but Mike Murrill did! And he made it happen! The meat was beautiful and very tasty. Thank you so much!

I’ve been a regular here for over a year and our weekend meals wouldn’t be the same without The Butcher’s Market—burgers on Friday, wings and steak tips on Saturday, and chicken breasts on Sunday. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the meat is consistently fresh and delicious. I highly recommend!

Wilmington doesn’t have legit butchers in my opinion. You have to really rely on making friends with the staff at our local Harris Teeter which has an expanded butcher area with dry aged meats etc. Don’t get me wrong, you can still get great quality cuts. Beyond that, the only option is True Blue, which is more of a restaurant than a butcher. Their high quality butcher offerings to take home are fine, but over priced because they know they can get away with it. Selection really limited. Having a Butcher’s Market - while still not a full on classic butcher offering, is something we really needed. All quality with reasonable pricing. I’m so pumped.

I’ve been really impressed with The Butcher’s Market. The quality of the meat is consistently excellent—fresh, flavorful, and clearly well-sourced. Whether it’s steaks, chicken, or specialty cuts, everything I’ve tried has been top-notch. They also offer a great selection, with something for every taste and occasion. It’s clear they take pride in what they do, and it shows in both the product and the service. Highly recommend!

Store has an amazing selection of quality meats, spices, marinades, prepackaged meals, etc. The brands they sell are excellent. I was there for the first time today and purchased imported prosciutto. Unfortunately, one butcher area person cut it and, instead of placing the slices side by side, he stacked them on top each other. This causes the delicate meat to stick together into a ball. I needed to repackage it when I got home in addition to removing the tough exterior membrane/packaging. Be sure to ask for it side by side on wax paper. Sorry to report that everyone in the Porters Neck store was very nice minus one man in the butcher area. Had a chip on his shoulder and was ridiculously slow. Regardless, I would definitely give them a try. UPDATE: the owners responded to my review publicly requesting I email them so they could “make things right” blah, blah, blah. No response when I did…so assume their concerns regarding your visit is for show online only to whoever reads it.

I was looking forward to checking this place out. Unfortunately, after serving one customer, the meat guy turned away like I was invisible - mind you i waited patiently while the guy before me tried to decide. Not sure i would have been saved if the nice young man making sandwiches didn't see i was being ignored. Expensive, not great service. Prob won't be back.

This place is a gem, and I am so thankful the Porter’s Neck location is open. Wonderful selection of quality meats and foods. I stop by almost every Wednesday and partake mostly of the prepared foods. I have tried many dishes and have yet to be disappointed. The steak tips are delicious, though I do wish it was seasoned. The dips are divine, and the chips are seriously addictive. The ribs are the BEST I’ve had in along time. Highly recommend the twice baked potatoes in the case. Looking forward to getting things to grill (kabobs!) and getting the Farro Island Salmon too. The staff is always friendly and attentive. :)

I had a fantastic experience at The Butcher's Market. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, helping me pick the perfect cuts (thanks, Rory!). The meat quality is outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The market is clean, well-organized, and even offers great extras like marinades and spices. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-notch meats and excellent service.

Good products but they overweigh every serving. The reason you go to a butchers, and not pre-packaged, is to get exactly what you want. You ask for a pound of beef, 100% of the time you will get 1.2lbs+ at Butchers Market. I asked for 2lbs of chicken yesterday, got home and saw he sold me 2.52lbs of chicken. 25% overage?

Steak and Cheese sandwich was not good. Seemed the meat choice was stew meat chunks. Also, on top of the price of the sandwich they charge a fee to make it.
