Love the Butchers Edge! They are part of Bittners (Eureka) Locker. They always have fresh, locally sourced meat as well as some basic grocery items (buns, potatoes, tomato, etc..). Meat ranging from steaks, to ground to chicken & bacon and more. The selection is always diverse. If you have something you're after, I recommend stopping in early as this place stays busy and items in stock can vary. Great local addition to Downs!
Super friendly staff i started going there for my Bison. As im a huge Bison fan im not not sure were they get it from it. But definitely the best Bison ive ever had ill keep comming back
A butcher shop and grocery in Downs, IL! An amazing selection of fresh and frozen meats, poultry and vegetables. Various condiments, milk, butter, cottage cheese, beef sticks, etc. Even beef marrow bones for the dogs. Tomahawk steaks was the latest prize I snagged last weekend. Great food and helpful staff. If you don't see what you want ask. They can source some products in a couple of days.
New outlet for Bitner Meats from Eureka. Prices are a little higher than the chains grocery stores in Bloomington, but not unreasonably so. Quality appears quite high, and they have some specialty products like pork belly that are difficult to find. Downs, do yourself a favor and support this business owned by a local family.
A hidden gem in Downs! Stopped by for the first time and could not believe how reasonable the pricing is with such a large selection. Bought a variety of meats for grilling and smoking as well as hamburger bun and Dixon seafood options. We will be back!
Fantastic selection of both fresh and frozen meats, including pork bacon and beef bacon, beef, chicken, pork, flavored brats and more. Be sure to check the back room for pizza, frozen veggies, buns, etc.
Love the pizza flavored cheese curds, I pick them every time I stop in!
