Worst ground beef I’ve ever had at any price. Filled with cartelege and tendons. How is ground beef more chewy than the cheapest steak? Absolutely awful. I threw out the rest of what I bought and there are plenty of other options for grass fed ground beef. I suggest buying any of the others.

I agree with others that the bad reviews are BS. I just bought some at Fred Meyer, and the beef is really good. I looked up their website, and I wish it had a bit more readily accessible information about the cows and regenerative aspects. However, if their claims are true about being 100% raised on a diverse regeneratively grown diet, then I'm happy to spend the extra cash. Honestly, isn't even that expensive. Besides that, I'm also buying this brand to protest the absolutely unconscionable conditions in which factory animals are raised. Those animals are in poor health, and we eat that, so therefore we also become poor in health. Plus, it's just wrong. If their claims are true about being regeneratively raised, which I don't have any reason not to believe, just that I would like even more information if possible, then it is really a great benefit to buy this as opposed to the other, GMO, confided, dare I say abused beef. Think, would you really want to treat an animal like that, personally? Trap them in confinement with no wiggle room, stepping on their own feces, and being force fed chemically sprayed corn that causes cancers and tumors until you're sent to death, then grind them up and eat them? Hell no. Now, an animal that spends its days living peacefully, grazing on whatever fresh and nutritious plants they please, and live their full life only to have one bad day at the end? That's a win for the cow, and a win for us. Because it's happier, healthier, more nutritious. And we are what we eat. We then become healthier, and it shows we respect the animal to treat them with a happy life. It's the least it deserves, giving their life to us.

Not sure what's going on with all the 1 star reviews but I bought the 90/10 grounds and the premade meatballs. The meatballs were awesome. Cooked directly from frozen and super flavorful with a limited list of ingredients. Great selection of herbs to go in them. The grounds are great. I think that not many people are very familiar with how grass fed grass finished beef is different from from grass fed grain finished beef. There is some tendon in the meat but its not nearly as stringy as described. Grain finished beef is going to havea smoother flavor whereas grass finished will be gamier since it has less fat and higher micronutrient profile. My SO is a cattle rancher and hunter, so its not often that I need to purchase meat, but I will definitely be buying sunfed from now on. Affordable for what product is advertised, and its so important to not have international mystery cows with not traceability. Keep it up, SunFed! 🐮❤️

I don’t leave reviews, but my husband and I both couldn’t even finish our burgers and we threw out the rest of the meat! It was absolutely terrible. Every single bite had chunks of tendons and strings that we could not even chew. Honestly, I was picking pieces of stuff out my teeth after every - single - bite. Flavorless even after seasoning. Full of chewy bits and I’m scared to even know what we were chewing on. This was so expensive and I thought I was doing a good thing buying grass fed and organic, but the cheap meat tastes 10000% better. How did this pass quality control? The worst meat I have EVER purchased. Trust me - DO NOT BUY.

All the one star reviews are from a year ago and they all say the same thing! Yes I believe these are just from the competition. I have NEVER found anything but great quality every time I have used their ground beef. Do not believe their bad reviews. I also use all their other beef products. ❤️❤️

Google

The best beef in the store (Safeway). It's the only beef that is 100% GRASS FED!!! I love the taste and I know that I am eating beef that is healthy as nature intended. No GMO corn fed garbage which is what most Americans are use to eating, so you need to assimilate your taste buds to these super delicious and very slighlty gamey flavor. Gamey means your cow is eating very healthy grass as nature intended and your going to benefit enormously from consuming it. Eat a pasture raised Ketogenic diet, the appropriate human diet. Being Keto, I wish SunFed Ranch had a fattier beef like 70%. Yummmm : )

Google

Bought my 2nd package. Was fresh not frozen, fried up, lots of grease, and i could not chop the pieces smaller so it looked like ground beef. So many tendons, etc., that each bit of ground beef seemed about the size of a nickel, after beating it and breaking it while frying for about 20 minutes. I'm eating it right now and it tastes good, but just the fact that i have to chew and chew until it breaks down is giving me a creepy feeling about it, i am going to throw out the rest of what i just made.

Google

I bought the 90% lean ground beef and there is no way it was 90% lean. I’ve cooked ground beef for 25 years using different % and know how much fat comes back from 90% lean versus 80% even 70%. It’s was definitely closer to 70% fat. You can see the tons of fat throughout the meat. Very disappointed. And lucky i gave it 2 stars.

I bought a one pound package At Safeway. Made it into 4 patties. It looked good but it was tasteless And obviously injected with water. It was kind of gross I threw it out. Never have had that experience with hamburger before. At over $10 a pound I expected more.

Google

Their beef is marketed as quality “organic, grass fed”, etc. but the eating experience is terrible. They must throw the whole freaking cow in there because there is so much gristle, bone pieces, even found what might have been a cow hair once. It’s terrible. This is coming from someone who grew up on a dairy and beef farm and know what good beef should be.

Google

Probably the worst ground beef I’ve had. As other reviewers have mentioned, the “gristle” is an issue. The meat has a rubbery texture and a bland flavor. Ruined our tacos.

Google

I've not even taken a bite. The ground beef smells like cheesy feet. It stunk up my whole house. What's in this meat that it makes it smell like that? All I know is ground beef never smells the way this does, I will NEVER buy this brand again. Pure disgusting.

Google

Bought the 80/20 Sun Fed ground beef at Kroger and I used it to make burgers. A little salt and pepper was all I added, it was delicious. Have been looking for it at other grocery stores but can only find it at Kroger. Really juicy and also love that they are regenerative

Google

Grass fed and free to roam cow meat is the best but takes getting used to. My kids at first wouldn't eat it. The texture is different than the cows mistreated with grain and confinement. Now, they are choosy to choose the grass fed and even my husband says, "Get the grass fed stuff".

Google

I have never seen ground beef like this. It looks disgusting, and like dog food there are so many identifiable chunks. I don't even want to eat this.

Google

Honestly, this ground beef was absolutely disgusting and it’s hard to make disgusting ground beef. We couldn’t even chew through it- it was like there were pieces of tendons in it. And for $10?!? Never again and would definitely not recommend.

Google

What in the hell. I spent $10.49 for a pound of "beef" made up of chunks of cartilage, tendons and other random organs. This was so disgusting looking I didn't even try eating it. Just because it came from a cow and you ground it up doesn't mean you can call it "ground beef".

Google

I saw this new item at my market today, grass fed beef sloppy Joes! How can you go wrong? Did not taste like it had meat in it because they mushed it up so much, had the consistency of mashed potatoes. The meat may have been soy or tofu and it would have tasted the same and it was not cheap!

Google

Best ground beef, can really taste the difference, SMITHS FOOD used to sell it but now only their brand, which is Garbage!

Google

Used the beef in a Shepherds pie recipe. Every bite had gristle. Only coding on package EST 2697 FREEZE BY: 03/09/2023
