Was treated very disrespectful. Just because I ask for a deal if I bought more than 50lbs the man in the office which is the owner, came out telling me he didn’t need my business I couldn’t be asking for a discount. Anywhere I go I get a discount when I buy more than 30lbs I didn’t see how that would be so offensive for him. To me this lil business is not very professional at all.

First visit = customer for life. Staff was very helpful and knew their product well. All questions were answered from cheese differences to sausage and jerky these folks were super helpful. Few things to keep in mind is that they do NOT use preservatives in their meats so make sure you have space in your fridge or freezer. Anyone who has seen the sad state of affairs in most conventional stores with lack of customer service will see this place as a "breath of fresh air". They also sell nice hand made pottery as well, be sure to ask about the hidden jerky also!

I know that this owner is a man and he's very respectful and welcoming and I give this place 4 stars and there's also a white lady that has a long ponytail and she's a shorter woman that's roughly 5'3 in height and she's such a sweet heart. I've only been here twice in my life because my mom loves country meats and when I come to Greenville NC to visit family, that's the store that I found that wasn't too far away and fortunately they have a great selection of meat but there was a taller white woman there that wears glasses and was very rude, as soon as I came in the door explaining what I was looking for she had a attitude right away and she was shaking her head because I wasn't familiar with the store or items and I am the type of person that asks questions and she was immediately annoyed and started shaking her head just because I asked a question about an item. She told me that if a certain item is opened then it has to be sold. I said to her I did not ask for any item to be opened but she proceeded to continue saying that and I am not sure if she's a racist or what but she shouldn't be in that place of work with that attitude. I didn't do anything and I've never seen that woman a day in my life, I know that the further south you go the worse it gets a racism but I could have been very disrespectful back to her but I didn't. She is very rude and ignorant! She should not be working there. Not everything is race related but that's how I felt and I know sometimes people have bad days and I completely get it but you don't bring your personal issues to work or your work issues home and if this is the case her manager should talk to her about customer etiquette because I can read body language very well and there are others than can too so this woman gave me reason to maybe never go there again and I hate that I will let one apple spoil the entire bunch. This happend on 08/13/22 at approximately 9:30 am and I was not a happy camper. So, if the owner happens to see this then he'll know who I am talking about if he happens to have the schedule of employees that worked that day. Again, this was the taller white woman with the glasses and wedding band and she also had a pink sun visor on this day. It's not what you say to a person but it's how it is said and she was extremely rude. I didn't get that experience on my very first visit prior which was 3-4 months prior.

I Love this place. Great meats, great prices, great service. The owners are friendly and helpful. Their "Smokey Fresh" sausage is perfect for breakfast!

Best meat products in Eastern NC. Staff are always kind and a joy to spend time around. Asked them about the Jamaica Ginger Ale!!!!!!!!!!!! Sausage is in an league of it's own. Best meats around here. Wish they had ostrich meat.

Great people, very knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable. Quality is 10x better than chain supermarkets. Oh and don’t forget to ask about the hidden beef jerky if you love jerky you will love this.

Superb selection and friendly service. Don't think it cannot all be in a small non-descript cinder block building out in the Eastern North Carolina countryside, run by an expatriate Brit (I think). Well worth the drive from Greenville. I frequently call in my orders for pick-up later. Also, a wide array of seasonings, spices and sauces you will not find anywhere else locally. Try 'em next time you need a cut of meat you cannot get at the large chain grocery stores.

Went there today with my daughter, who really fell in love with the cleanliness and the cuts of meat... Now if you want something make sure to ask because it may not be on display and they may have it behind the counters...Very nice selection... Already putting together our upcoming call ahead before pick up meat orders...

They are always,nice to me when i go there. I love it cuz now i dont have to food shop in N.y.c and bring it to N.C cuz they sell my oxtails,goat,lamb,steak etc..for a reasonable price as well as my Jamaican season ooo and they have the best honey that they make them self. The man is from Africa even tho he dont look it. They cut ur meat how u want it while u wait and the place is,clean.

The best ribeyes and fresh made sausage you will ever put in your mouth!! Helpful and friendly, family run. You couldn't ask for a better place to buy meat.

The family at Sumrell's are wonderful. They always have what I need and make great suggestions. I love getting my meats from here. They also have a great selection of spices.

The yummiest meat, if you are a meat lover. Traditional biltong, dry wors and boerewors. It will make you feel like you back in South Africa. My kids absolutely loved it! Will be back
