I took my mom to Straughn Farms in Archer, FL for her very first berry-picking adventure, and it was amazing ! We decided to come as soon as they opened to beat the crowds and also to be there before the heat was too unbearable. At 8am I feel like it was the perfect time for us. One of my close friend’s mom came here a weekend before and raved about this place so we decided to check it out for ourselves. There were about six different varieties of blueberries; Sentinel, Patrecia, Optimus, Keecrisp, Farthing, and Colossus, and honestly, they were some of the best berries I’ve ever tasted. We heard the pink berries were some of the sweetest, but I was on a mission to scoop up as many blueberries as I could, and boy, did we score! I picked a pound for just $5, and every berry was plump, fresh, and bursting with flavor. They also had a few raspberries growing in their greenhouse and a small strawberry field. Since it’s off-season for strawberries, we didn’t find too many ripe ones, but honestly, the experience was still perfect. The farm itself is gorgeous, super clean, and easy to navigate. Plus, everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. You can really tell the owners put their heart into this place. If you’re looking for a sweet and wholesome day trip, Straughn Farms is 100% worth it. We’re already planning to come back, and next time, maybe snag some of those famous pink berries too!
Spot for one of the best upick event in Gainesville. There are best blueberries and raspberries along with some strawberries. In addition you can also get organic veggies as well! Very convenient and nearby to get the berries! However best when the environment is little cool because you may get exhausted in hot day! However the berries are best than you can get in any mart!
It could use more and better signs so visitors can feel it’s a decent farm. It is a big farm. Happy to get local honey there too. Blueberries are nice, of course! Don’t forget their Pink Lemonade Blueberries, super delicious!
I had the best experience at straw Farms. I found the ripest juiciest blueberries of my life. There, wish I had picked more. I will return one of the finest experiences of North Central Florida. I’ve had.

Wonderful organic strawberry picking with friendly staff! I also appreciate that it’s simple… not a bunch of gimmicky farm activities that require an entrance fee. those are fun but sometimes I just want the produce :)
They have two varieties you can pick, and then they have a 3rd variety, "pink berries" also called "easter blues" that you can buy already packaged. I don't know what the two varieties were for u-pick but one had an orange ribbon and one had a blue ribbon. Of the two varieties, the blue ribbon was more flavorful and sweet in my opinion. Employees were very nice. We will be back next year for sure if we don't make it back this year.

Best blueberries!!! Huge!! And flavorful.
The farm is not open as stated in the website, they are obviously replacing their bushes wasted my time going because it said OPEN. They did however have the best tasting berries.
