Special D Meats

I took two hogs to Tyler Sapp with Soecial D Meats on September 30, 2025. I have yet to receive my meat. After 3 calls and being told they are in “cure” or the bacon is being “smoked” or they are being wrapped. I have had 3 different figures of what I owe for the processing. 400,235 and 292 dollars. When they were dropped off I was told by Tyler it would be 2 weeks, today is 10/24/2025 and still no call. Now I am thinking that my meat has been sold in the store for store profit. Tyler told me that he was in the process of purchasing the business. The seller asked that he show a profit. I am certain they meant an honest profit. By no means is this going away. By now the meat if not sold in house is no good. I will be filing a complaint with the USDA as well as Missouri Department of Agriculture. I will also be contacting my attorney for further guidance.

Not sure I received the deer meat from the deer I brought in. Not sure I would have ever got meat had I not called after several weeks not hearing. Did not get the roasts I ordered. More importantly, based on 40 years of having deer processed, I believe I was significantly shorted on the quantity my size of deer should have produced!

Bought beef bacon from freezer,was spoiled, and got 3 people sick from food poisoning

I have been using Special D Meats since 2003 for processing all my livestock. Top ratings from me for the staff here. They are all knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean. It is obvious that they take pride in their work. Thank You Special D for being the best in the region.

I have been eating Special D Meat most of my life from childhood as a little girl and now into adulthood with children of my own. I live clear down in Jefferson City, and although there are butcher shops here, they simply cannot compare to the taste, affordability and quality provided at Special D. It's the only red meat I'll feed my family and drive an hour and a half to purchase it. The customer service has always been and continues to be phenomenal. Thank you for continuing to stay in business all these years, you are ALL truly appreciated!

Amazing. I bought a sirloin steak from them and cooked it very rare on the grill. Let me tell you though that this is without a doubt the best cut of steak I have ever had in my life. The price is also very good especially for the quality of the steaks. They will be seeing a lot more business from me that's for sure. :-) I did note the end times on google are wrong. They close up at 5:30 PM.

Took our deer here for processing, ended up with a bit of miscommunication on one end or the other, and they went above and beyond to make everything work for us. I've always done the processing myself, but after this year I will continue to take it to them any year I'm fortunate enough to fill the truck bed.

The ham salad has been a consistent staple of my childhood and now adulthood. It always tastes the same: delicious. Now that all my family in Macon has passed away I'm sad I won't have a reason to come here and get ham salad. They should consider shipping their products!

Had a cow processed here. One of many through the years. They refused to process it how it was ordered. The service has gotten terrible and beginning to think their staff is clueless when it come to butchering and processing. Never again will our beef be taken to them.
