Shipley Farms Signature Beef

Our visit was really an enjoyable experience. The history of the family and the farm was very interesting, it is a beautiful setting and our host Bob Shipley was just a delight as was Wyo (one of the Grand Pyrranees dogs on the farm). He was So welcoming and really seemed to enjoy sharing his family story with us. It was clear they take great pride in their animals and what they deliver to the market. Great to hear so we bought some of their beef and it absolutely delivered on the farm’s philosophy of caring for the animals has great results for all. We also took a 2nd tour a few days later that focused just on the animals, what they eat, how they live and our treated and loved. We even got to meet the goats and 4 of the hefers up close and personal. Farmer Bob is so welcoming and knowledgeable. He definitely embodies humane treatment of the animals ensuring they are always happy and well fed.

Booked a cattle feeding tour while in the area. We were the only ones there and it was so nice to learn the history of the area and family farm. Haven't tried our beef yet but I know it will be better than anything store bought. Gray was so incredibly nice and knowledgeable! Bonus points we got to bring our dog along!

We recently moved to the area and have loved the Shipley products for almost a year now and have been wanting to take a farm tour for quite some time after visiting the farm store the very first time! Not only are the products fantastic, but the people are too! The tour was incredibly fascinating, we learned so much from Bob about the history of Shipley Farms as well as the vision for where it hopes to go in the future. If you are wanting to spend time with wholesome people - book a tour with Shipley Farms! You will learn a lot about the area, local history, as well as the livestock industry as a whole and how North Carolina local farmers (like Shipley Farms) support that industry AND uphold a standard of quality and care for their animals and community.

The ribeye was outstanding and we are looking forward to everything else we purchased. We returned for the unique experience of a farm tour with Mr. Bob Shipley himself and he humbly explained their family story and the rich history of the valley where they raise their cattle. His knowledge is impressive!

We just had the best day at Shipley Farms!! We attended a Grilling 101 class and it beyond exceeded our expectations. Chef Danny was so knowledgeable and shared alot of information about cuts of beef, how they are raised, and cooking tips that have never crossed my mind. We also had an opportunity to grill and eat some amazing food. This was by far the best steaks I've ever had. We had some great fresh farm sides as well. The farm itself is quite serene and I'm impressed by what they do there and with level of community demonstrated with other local farms. I will definitely be purchasing beef from there and I'm excited to see what programs may develop there in the future. We also had a chance to interact with the owners of the farm on a personal level and hear both the history and vision of the farm. It's obvious they are passionate about what they do. We’ve been purchasing our beef from Shipley for the past couple of years. It’s consistently amazing! My family loves it so much, it’s our go-to option for celebration meals. Today I enjoyed getting to pick up my order at the Blowing Rock Farmer’s Market. You couldn’t ask for nicer, more knowledgeable folks. Thank you Shipley Family and staff for making such quality beef, sharing your knowledge and always making a visit with y’all a joy!

Our experience at Shipley Farm was wonderful! "Farmer" Bob's presentation was thorough, extremely informative and fun. Shout outs to Maya (sp?) and Gray for their warm and welcoming supportive roles. It was such joyful and educating experience! And the food we purchased was the best. We also purchased the book, "Here by the Owl" about the Shipley family. The book is an engaging, great read! Shipley Farm is a gem for the High Country!

Ohioan here on vacation. I saw them on a post Helene video & was surprised when driving to our vacation rental when I saw their sign. I had no idea they were so close! Stopped in today to support the local economy. Met Bob & his daughter. Bought lots of meat. Can't speak to that yet but these were lovely friendly people & I enjoyed the history of the farm.

We were fortunate enough to purchase some fresh beef from the farm, and it was absolutely delicious—undoubtedly some of the best we've ever tasted. The quality and flavor were truly exceptional, reflecting the care and dedication that Bob and his team put into their work. Already, we are planning our return visit for next year, this time to stay in their unique Safari Tents. The idea of being surrounded by the beautiful farmland while enjoying such comfortable accommodations sounds like a perfect getaway. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience filled with learning, relaxation, and great food, Shipley Farms is a must-visit!

My group had the best experience on our tour. We even got to meet some extended family and friends of the owner and it added so much charm and memories to our trip. The farm is beautiful and understanding more about the farming in general was very valuable. Highly recommend bringing the whole family here!

Shipley is a wonderful organization with super friendly staff who offer some excellent grass fed beef products. We love the steaks and other cuts and they are happy to work with us for special cuts. We buy Shipley for ourselves and it is also a wonderful option for corporate gifts, Father’s Day, or any occasion at all! Love Shipleys!

Booked the feeding tour for myself and my four year old at the last minute and am so glad I did! Farmer Bob was a wonderful tour guide and patiently answered all the extra questions about the equipment from my son in addition to sharing …

The staff was amazingly helpful in getting my order put together and shipped to my brother in Missouri for his birthday. He and his family were thrilled and are looking forward to many steak dinners!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the farm. Everyone I talked with was extremely friendly and engaging. My time with Bob, walking and talking was wonderful. I will visit again.

Stopped into the farm store while on vacation. Great selection of meat! Picked up a ribeye and it was delicious. Super friendly staff too, I’ll be ordering online for delivery!

Shipley Farms is my choice. We share the same last name ,but are not related.I sent my brother ribeyes ; he said they were as good as any steak he has had and included photos. His photo is only one half of a tasty ribeye. Thank you Sydney for your delightful customer service.

Visiting from out of town and found this place. Good history and excellent beef. There is a reason why it’s been around 150+ years. Thank you Gary for helping us pick the best steaks for our group!! We’ll be talking about this meal for a while.
