Shenk Family Farm

I've been a farm products customer for about 6 years now--various cuts of chicken and pork, lard, and of course eggs! Have tried several recipes that Rachel has shared as well. Always great tasting and good quality which keeps me coming back. This past Saturday, was my first visit to the farm for the Shenk Family Farm tour hosted by Joe, Rachel, Mason and Daisy. Very impressive indeed to see the philosophy in action and witness the conditions in which the animals grow and thrive in harmony with nature. In my next life I want to come back as one of Joe's pigs! What a wonderful experience to see where my food is coming from. I highly recommend the tour as a great (and mindful) experience for young and old.

I had the pleasure of buying beef, chicken, pork, pet products and eggs from Shenk Family Farm for six months while living in Atlantic Beach, NC this year. We shopped with them every week and tried something new each time. We were never dissapointed with the meats, ease of ordering or customer service from their team. All the meats are exceptional but I highly reccomend the chicken thighs, ground beef and bone-in pork chops. Those are the ones we had in the refrigerator at all times. Remeber to cook these meats within a day or two because they are that fresh and don't have any preservatives. After having Shenk's, we are spoiled and look forward to seeing them again in 2025!

I first saw Shenk Family Farm at the Beaufort Farmer's Market. They were out of eggs at the market so I visited the site and ordered eggs for the next week. The next thing I know Rachel was offering to drop eggs by my house! (due to the MHC drop spot not happening that week) What a neighborly thing to do!! The eggs were delicious and since that time I've enjoyed receiving their newsletter where Rachel shares farm news, family stories, photos, and even recipes! Talk about community. I look forward to trying more of their local grown and raised products. Support local farmers!

We love getting our eggs and meat from Shenk Family Farm at the New Bern farmer's market every week! Our Sunday morning breakfast tradition wouldn't be the same without their eggs and sausage. We've also had some steaks and chicken which have been equally delicious. Amazing, high quality food from amazing people!

Love love love this farm. We love getting local eggs and have gotten multiple cuts of meat and loved every single item! Our family eats a lot of eggs 5+ dozen a week. Getting local is a must for us.

I have been a customer of Shenk Family Farm from the beginning. I have long been a huge fan of their chickens and eggs. When I visit friends and family they usually request I bring eggs with me. I find that I am running out of adjectives to describe their chicken, turkey, pork and beef products. The perfect chicken or turkey is prepared only with a bit of salt and pepper and comes out delicious! The pork is so flavorful and the fat has the whitest cleanest taste; it is truly addicting. The beef lives up to the high standards of quality and flavor that the eggs, chicken, turkey and pork deliver. I can not wait to see (and cook) what’s next!

Love stopping by their stand at the Cedar Point Farmers Market!! The lady and her children are so nice. I have ordered chickens and eggs from their online store and it is super user friendly!! I was able to pick it up my order from the farmers market and they were delicious! Eating locally is the way to go!

This family-run farm is absolutely wonderful. I get a monthly subscription box, and it’s jam-packed with amazing locally grown chicken, pork, and beef. Follow them on social media to get stories and updates from the farm that will warm your heart (not something I can usually say about the food I eat!) and awesome recipe ideas!

Best poultry and pork products ever! You can tell the animals are raised with the utmost care and provided a quality life which translates into PHENOMENAL meat products. I love their passion for animal, environmental, and community care. They’re fully transparent in their practices; farm tours offered. I love that I know the people who produce my family’s meat products 💗

Joe, Rachel, Mason, and Daisy Shenk - we call them OUR little Farm Family! So blessed to have met them. Their products are out of this world. To know where the eggs and meats come from, how well the animals are treated, how Joe and Rachel and the kids live in Harmony with Nature - how they allow us to share in their lives, all of that makes them and their mission very special.

Always buy my chickens from the Shenk Farm. They are very tasty and are raised frèe ranging. The Shenks have a great local farm and are wonderful people.

Rachel and Joe grow the best food. They care so much for the animals, we just know that our meat is loved and has no stress hormones. Everything we get from them is excellent.

We loved our tour of the farm! It was wonderful to see the animals and learn about farming. I'm sure we will visit again in the future. Also, the eggs were delicious!
