Schott's Meat Market

I’m Italian and picky about my Italian food. Their Italian sausage is amazing! It’s not fatty nor is it dry. It has enough zip to make it interesting. I use it in my red sauce to give it a special depth of flavor. I have used their Chuck roast in Italian and Guinness pot roast. Heaven!

This butcher shop is a wonderful place to visit, full of quality meat and great people. We love coming here to get our chicken and sausage and even our Jerky. Of course you cannot leave without buying the cookies at least once. 😆 That’s a trick because they will then be forever hard to resist. It’s always a treasure trove when we come in here. And the best part of all is the excellent kind and well informed people who always go out of their way to assist us when we are here. You won’t be sorry if you make time to check this place out.

This is the best place for game processing. Also I just bought the bacon wrapped jalapeño popper stuffed chicken thighs. 10/10. And they are big enough to share. The bacon wrapped broccoli cheese and rice chicken thighs are just as good. And so easy to make.

In this day and age where we can't even trust the meat from our local grocery stores, it's comforting to know that when you walk into Schott's Meat Market you can ask the manager exactly where the meat came from,and what their diet was. The manager will then quickly tell you everything you need to know about the meat you're about to purchase. Can HEB do that? Compare a steak from here with a steak from Walmart. You'll see what I mean. And the prices, can't beat it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I love this place but Id like to rant and make a suggestion about your brisket stuffed jalapeño poppers. You shouldn't fold another layer of bacon underneath the outer layer of bacon. It doesn't cook. The outer layer burns to a crisp by the time the inner folded piece does. And if you go low and slow with the heat the outside bacon is perfect but the piece inside is 100% raw. Its ridiculous, just wrap it in a single layer of bacon.

Really friendly folks and really good meat. I was surprised to not find a highly marbled steak here for the price, but the end result did not disappoint. They have generous sized portions of meat with some specialty items like bacon wrapped jalapeños, sausage, bone marrow, tomahawk steak. They have a few types of jerky, dry sausage, and sausage bites. They also cycle through some very good looking dessert options that you won't find in the grocery store.

Great selection of locally sourced cuts. High grade meats like prime/wagyu and including some rarer cuts at reasonable prices. Their cheddar jalapeno sausage is top notch. Selection is very beef centric which is something to consider if you have a preference. What they have however beats central market hands down on price and the quality is top notch.

WOW, such a clean store! Great selection, golden Customer Service. The meat market had plenty employees working so , no long wait time. And then as we were leaving, Juan gave us a little gift(a special penny), with a small explanation and a big heart. Farrah and I both looked at each other because the sweetest little gesture was given also. I am definitely going to be back!!! 5 STARS Easy!!!!

This place is amazing, great quality meats, reasonable prices, and the staff has always been really helpful and nice. I go to one of the 2 Schott's locations at least once every 2 weeks to stock up.

Very clean with a very friendly staff. Nice selection of meats and jerkey. What I really liked was that all the meats were wrapped already in plastic instead of being exposed to the air like some other meat markets.

The best quality of meat you can find. Their marinated tri-tip and marinated skirt steak is to die for!! Really friendly and helpful people.

This place is only going to get better. I asked about house smoked meat, one of the gentlemen said Helotes didn't let them build a smoker but they're opening another one in Alamo Ranch that will do the smoking and bring their inventory. Great prices, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I'll give it 5 stars when I can try their bacon.

Great selection of locally sourced beef. They make their own jerky and let you sample it too, delicious. Very informative on the products, friendly and courteous service.

The wagyu beef fajitas are fantastic! I came here for the first time this weekend. The very friendly gentleman behind the counter said "come back soon." I told him that if everything was good I would be back. He said "you'll be back, I promise." Well, he was right - I will be going back!
