Schaub's Meat Fish & Poultry

I had a delicious hot pastrami sandwich at Schaub’s served with homemade potato salad. Guadalupe made it for me. She was so friendly. I was thinking of a Reuben sandwich and also ordered sauerkraut on it and she kindly obliged. Will be back!

Great meats. If you haven't tried the Fred Steak, you're missing one of the joys in life. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

Excellent Kobe Fred’s Domestic Wagyu Steak Meat. Little Pricey but delicious.

This place has the best specialty sausages i've ever had, ranging from chicken to pork. Fav chicken: memphis blue. Fav pork: cheddar bacon.

Shaun has great meats and sandwiches. My favorite is their Santa Cruz sandwich. Recently I am trying to go low carb and they are so sweet to accommodate me by making it without the bread. Some places don’t wrap it well enough and it’s hard to eat a lettuce wrap sandwich without stuff falling out but schaub’s employees always made sure the lettuce wrap around the ingredients nicely so that eating it is a breeze! And they wrap the ingredients win lots of lettuce so I never ever miss not having the bread! Love this place!

Fred’s Marinated Sirloin and Fred’s Burgers are both absolutely fantastic when barbecued. The presentation of the sirloin definitely makes a good talking point. I was really tempted to buy a sandwich while I was here too, but I’d only just eaten…

Very poor quality sandwich construction and SUPER expensive. $19 for turkey with cheddar. Proportions all wrong, drowning in condiments, very sloppy, and difficult to eat. Boar's Head ought to stop supplying this retailer since they don't know how to prepare and serve the products properly.

I had the pleasure to meet Steve and the other senior butcher (I don't remember his name) but really kool people. When we go to shaub's, we leave with a feast. Fred's marinade is the best!!!! 🔥. That's the main item we're after and everything else is extra, but well worth it. I have friends and family asking when I'm going to get some of that black meat. My main store for specialty meats.

Nice selection but the handling of the raw fish without gloves made me uncomfortable.

This is a review of the counter service on the meat side. Not the quality of meats. I have been going here for years when I am at Stanford. Jason is great! Helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the woman who works with him is the worst. My latest trip, I asked for 2lbs. of beef stew meat. She went in the back, came out and said .”I only have 1 lb.” I asked if she could cut some up but she said no…Really you couldn’t cut up a pound?? Nobody else was in the store at the time. Not only does she not do her job but she is very unfriendly, something I have noticed for years. So, I got some lamb meat , which they had. I then asked her for a plastic bag to put the meat in because I was putting it in my backpack. She told me I have to buy one! She has a big roll of cheap produce bags for the meat on top of the counter! Worst employee ever! She’s very rude and hates her life. It’s obvious.. Mind you, this is just the latest experience that made me write a review. I have had many more lame interactions with her in the past, but let them slide. Please fire this lady! Ask for Jason instead, he’s great!
