I came here while visiting the area after reading about all the cheese they have to offer. It was a great family farm with a whole fridge of sheep cheese and another of cow cheese. Additionally they also sold yogurt, meat and eggs in other fridges. The cheese was pricey ($20/lb and up) but considering it's homemade it makes sense. I'd recommend a visit.
Several of their products have become staples in our home. The milk from Sankow's is amazing-- sweet and creamy. Their pot pies are absolutely incredible with flaky crusts and are the best emergency meals when I don't feel like making dinner or need to put my energy into something else. We've also enjoyed their soups, sausages, and I can't wait to try their ground meat in future recipes. But if it's your first time visiting, I stress: milk and chicken pot pies. You won't regret it! The staff has always been so friendly to both me and my children. I love being welcomed by them. Truly a nice experience to be a customer here.
Humble shop, but truly local. Real, honest, old-fashioned sheep milk products. A great resource for folks avoiding cow milk and big dairy!
My husband and I stopped in to purchase eggs. I asked one of the women that came out from the back room if there were any eggs. She was very rude and said “I don’t know, somewhere” and left. She yelled to the other woman in the back room to tell her she was leaving and she was up. She walked out without a second glance at us. The second woman walked out of the back room and just left leaving us in the store without help. We left without purchasing anything. We will not be back. Too unkept and staff rude.
I’ve picked up the homemade chicken soup one week at the the Chester Sunday Holiday Market and then the fresh osso bucco this past Sunday at the market...I cooked the osso bucco this evening. The products / ingredients are super fresh. Amazing quality.
