Best kosher butcher in Illinois and probably the entire Midwest. They also sell chopped liver, potato salad, coleslaw, kishka and more. They'll make you a coldcut sandwich on rye. They have a selection of various hot dogs and sausages. They're famous for their salami. Friendly people. Very old school place. It's like walking into a store from the 50s, which it is.

Best Salami and Pastrami I’ve ever had! 10/10 recommend this place. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

You walk into Romanian kosher sausage co. And you feel like you stepped into a Time Machine. I guess there’s a good reason this place has been here and operating for 100 years. Some of the best deli meats money can buy. Skip the wait and get the hardest salami possible. Amazing!! Pro tip- can order in advance.

Good pastrami and other stuff. They stock some items from North Shore bakery that is convenient as well.

One of the staples of the Chicago Jewish community. Actually one of the staples of the international Jewish community! Whenever we want quality hot dogs, burgers, deli, and sausages, Romanian is the ONLY place to go. Absolutely the top notch kosher meat out there.

Apparently this company does not take the time to properly prep the meat by trimming the fat removing the cartilage and skin from the meats they use to make their beef chopped liver. This has been an issue for many years know. Their should not be white pieces of cartilage in the chopped liver and their should not be what looks like string in the chopped liver which the company says is skin. I called the company and to them they act like this is normal. It is not a normal practice to just throw everything into a machine without taking the time to clean and prep the meats used in all their products before processing. Finding what looks like string in your beef chopped liver is nothing less than disgusting. I will not eat another product made by Romanian and I encourage you as well to stop purchasing their products until they start making food that is safe to eat. If their staff does not know how to make food properly then they need to hire people that do. As for the owner you need to acknowledge you have a problem that needs fixed. God only knows what is in your food and I have had enough.

The pastrami is to DIE for. We get the “house cut”. Warm it up in a pan at home but not too much. It melts in your mouth. We love pastrami and eat it and “rate it” everywhere we go and this is our favorite. I send it to my son out of state he misses it.

I love this place! The best deli meats and salami, the best kishke (that could only be improved by a natural casing), beautiful fresh meat and poultry, broiled beef liver, chopped liver...all delicious! I didn't see chicken feet but I didn't look very hard. I did get chicken skin to make schmaltz.
