Rocky Hill Meats is a farm and butcher shop that primarily sells various types of meat, including beef, goat, chicken, and lamb. The business aims to provide fresh, locally sourced meat products to customers, although it has received mixed reviews regarding customer service and product quality. They also offer a small grocery section for fresh produce.
Just like the name, everything is in a messed up situation. Sign is still saying Tylor's custom cut, web is with rocky hill meats. Price? $3.55 per lb for front, but charged $4.95 per lb. I was informed that the price depends on what they spend on the live one when bought. Not sure why it was not stated in the web site. I drove 130 miles to get meat because of the price, but the price was more than the local shop. In our area the price is only $4.75 per lb. There is a poster near the counter for 5% discount for 5 star review in Google. I know I am not getting the discount next time, but I am happy for expressing my true feelings. Check out the price chart in the shop and website. They all match, but the actual price is much more higher than the posted price.
Tyler Custom Cut sold rotten frozen minced meat and refuses to issue a return or refund. Called the owner & he asked to bring the meat back. When we visited next day, owner did not show up & rude lady instead started blaming us for negligence. We bought goat, lamb & other meat was fine. Only frozen meat was rotten. Lady was very rude and was showing a severe lack of responsibility and consumer care. Different execuses to not refund. Meat was trashed & lesson learned local meat stores offering fresh meat is the place to go. I will not recommend this place.
Great place to get goat meat, chicken and beef. They cut it skin out or save the hair for goat and burn it if you want. Same with chicken. They got good selection of male and female goats. They process it real quick. It’s very clean and they are very professional at cutting the meat. One think you gotta be aware is don’t put turmeric or any color on the goat skin , coz some people can be allergic and for that reason they don’t cut it into pieces, ( I did that smh) prices are great and they take EBT. They also clean all the innards and give the internal organs. They have ice and a small grocery store for fresh produce. It’s in the middle of nowhere so download the map or directions ahead. Highly recommend for goat meat.
Ordered 33lbs of BONLESS CHUCK ROAST to use for tacos for my wedding and was given 33lbs of boned chuck steaks. I spoke with Angel personally to place my order and then was told I would get a phone call on Monday from Jen. I had to reach our several times only to get "my personal life is busy I'll get back you as soon as possible" it was only once I threatened to take my money else where I finally was given a total and was able to finally pay for my meat 2 days before I needed it. I have pictures of the steaks too all a little over an inch thick, but not the roast I asked for.
Someone referred me to this business. I tried it out and loved it. They have chickens, roosters, guinea fowls, goat, lamb , beef and more. Got what I went there for and will be going back there in future when my supply runs out
Great service, halal fresh meat available here! People come from far away. Good management. I hate the smell, but it’s obvious!
I ordered a lamb roast from them for Christmas. When I went to pick up the lamb something was just off about these people. There was confusion and we had to sit in our car and wait for a lamb roast that no one seemed to know where it was. Finally they said they found it and I was to meet them in the office. I did not open the paper and view the lamb which was my first mistake. When I got it home I put it in the fridge and when I went to marinate it pushing slivers of garlic into the meat I could hardly puncture the skin to get the knife into the meat. That was my first second clue something was wrong. I did as much dressing it with garlic olive oil, oregano and rosemary as I could. I have been making lamb for Christmas for years so I know lamb. Well Christmas morning I put the lamb in the oven and took it out of the oven left it sit for a while then tried to use carve it and the electric knife could not even penetrate it. It literally was not edible and I had to throw it out. I paid eighty dollars for that lamb roast and could not be eaten. I called the owners and explained to them what happened and the answer I got was “well I used the roast from the other leg and it was fine……I think they were ready for my call. I would never recommend this company for their meats. I was never offered a credit or discount or anything. Not a way to do business.
I love this place they have good quality meat and animals. The people there are nice will help you and are always selling fresh meat. The 2 lady's who work in the office are really excellent and have good customer service Thanks Angel!!!
I had a terrible experience with Tylor Cut in Newville. I ordered 15 chickens around 2 PM and waited over an hour, but by 3 PM my order still wasn’t ready. I had to leave to pick up my kids from school, so I informed the Owner (Tom) that I’d come back the next day. He agreed to store the chickens in the freezer. When I returned the next day, I found that all the chickens were spoiled. They weren’t even cold, just slightly chilled at the bottom of the bag, and had a bad odor. I showed the staff, but they told me there was nothing they could do. They refused to refund me or to replace the chickens. The way they spoke to me lacked any respect or concern. They just don’t care about customers. I left without my chickens, without a refund, and without feeling like a valued customer. I would not recommend doing business here.
Beef is good but the price is not much differences than Walmart! every one is good except the tall white young girl is rude and disrespectful!! Chicken price is decent but they way they clean and cutting is worst and dirty! Need someone who can is a real butcher not someone who make look disgusting!! I couldn't eat after I open it later at home!!
I never thought I'd be writing a review for lamb! I honestly hate lamb normally, but my husband made a meal with the Halal Ground Lamb, and it was so so good. We bought it at Mediterranean Market in Mechanicsburg, and will definitely be …
I bought beef feet, asking for fresh ones. They said they were fresh, but when I got home, they were frozen, smelled so bad, and I had to throw them in the trash. Even dogs don’t think they would eat them. This was really disappointing and very irresponsible. Don’t trust them; make sure to check what they give you.
We love the flavor of their meats. 3rd year yo get beef and would not buy anywhere else!! Thanks Angel and gang!! Sheri Mell-Motter
Horrible service. Very rude and chaotic. I had to wait 16 hours to get my order. No professionalism or care for people.
Nasty meat place and products smell so bad I will never go back there, I went there for fresh products unfortunately you don’t see what you buy until they handle it to you ( not fresh) no return sign was hanging at the door .don’t go there find a clean location with fresh products dont waste ur time and your money here.
I bought 35 pounds of beef, and unfortunately, all of it turned out to be subpar. While the meat appeared red and fresh, it seems the butcher sold me low-quality cuts, possibly from aged cows. No matter how long I cook them, they remain …
Great place to purchase fresh goats and chicken. Friendly staff and quick service
I shop here often mostly for pre cuts and produce from their grocery section but it’s a very busy place given their hours and people coming from everywhere. You will see bad reviews for them being rude or ignoring customers but it’s …
The customer service is extremely poor. When you call, they quote one price, but when you arrive, it’s higher. I really wish they would hire staff with better communication skills.I wish I could rate zero.
Good place to get farm to table. Beef, goat, chicken turkey.. good service, great price. Support your local farm and butcher.
