River Hill Ranch

We absolutely loved our time at River Hill Ranch! We were able to interact with so many different types of farm animals and also learned so much about each species and what goes into caring for them! This was truly an amazing experience, and we cannot wait to go back for more! The owners are so kind and knowledgeable and care so much for their animals. 10/10 recommend getting out to River Hill Ranch!!

We visited here for a short day trip with my 18-mo old and mother in law when she was visiting. Alvina is so kind and we learned a lot about alpacas on the tour. We also got to meet a number of other animals! My whole family had a great time. Beautiful farm and drive to get there, as well.

Absolutely loved taking the grandkids here! Alvina was not only a great host and tour guide but she was great with the kids and taking things to their level! Love the hand made items in the gift shop too!!

Alvina is an amazing host and has a great passion for teaching kids and adults alike about her beautiful animals! My son absolutely loved his Alpaca summer camp held here and will be going back next summer. I highly recommend taking your family on a tour to this peaceful place tucked in to the green hills of Richmond, KY. Here, you will get some serious, soothing nature therapy. And if you want soft, warm alpaca merchandise you can get that to remember your visit.

My youngest son has attended Ranch Camp for the last three years. He absolutely loves it. I love knowing he’s in a safe environment and learning new things. He’s even eaten mulberries and cucumbers, which is huge for him because he’s a picky eater. He loves telling me about camp each day I pick him up and he always asks to go back. He loves meeting new friends and of course, Mrs. Alvina. He’s already looking forward to next summer. I would definitely recommend this camp and have recommended it to several friends for their children. They all love it, too.

My kids have been going to River Hill Ranch for years. They offer excellent programs for communing with animals, nature, and experiencing farm life. Its a beautiful little gem here in Madison County and we have been so thankful for the warm and welcoming staff and how they've provided some cherished lifelong memories for my children.

My daughter loved River Hill Ranch and the Alpaca Camp! She's definitely not an "outdoor" girl, but she loves animals and actually liked all the outdoor activities! The staff who worked with her were great and said they would love to have her back! :-)

Didn't know what to expect when I went their on a surprise date with my wife, we took a grilling class and it was a lot of fun. They are an alpaca farm and they sell alpaca meat, it's very lean and having the owners show you tips and tricks on cooking it was a huge help for preparing at home. The site is idyllic and the grilling class came with a tour of the farm and a crash course in alpaca husbandry. Really fun. Nice people. Beautiful location.

The staff was very friendly and my son loved looking at the Alpacas and the dog that was to protect the heard was his favorite. It's a kid friendly environment. I just wish when I went it was a bit warmer out and if my son could have pet one of the Alpacas would ha e recieved 5 stars :) the animals were just to scared.

I bought a pair of the lined socks and loved them enough to buy a second pair. My feet freeze in the winter and these socks actually keep them warm! This was my first experience with alpaca wool and I would highly recommend River Hill Ranch products.

I love this farm and the family that tends it. Beautiful landscape with great vistas and adorable alpaca. Their farm shop carries the loveliest handcrafted alpaca scarves, mittens, shawls, wraps, soaps, socks and other items. Worth the 20 min drive from the interstate!

River Hill is the best!! I have bought a hat, gloves and socks from them. Their wool is so warm and comfortable. The quality of their yarn is so good that their items wear well and will last and last. I highly recommend them.

Great place to learn about farming with livestock, particularly alpacas. They also have goats, chickens, cats, and livestock guard dogs. The owners are nice and very good with kids. Just beware of the "compost" pile that all the kids will want to play on & dig in!

River Hill Ranch is a great place to learn about alpacas and raising them. Alvina is a wonderful teacher and a great resource. I always enjoy going out to visit and seeing her herd, especially Freddie.
