Have used this butcher for years. I love that they vacuum seal and you customize your cuts. RSCM is affordable, friendly and quick service. Book in advance because everyone wants to use their services.
Pretty ticked off today and would have rated zero stars if we could.... we purchased half a hog from a private ranch that was having the butchering done through Rising Star. I spoke to Hannah @ RS myself regarding the cuts for our half... when I went to pickup, they didn't seem to care it was wrong. Couldn't find our name and couldn't find the cut card... we had asked for boneless, 1" porkchops and got 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" bone-in. Asked for half maple, half spicy sausage.. got only a load of maple. Then they found the cut card.. Jerry could have cared less when we discussed the issue. "Well, your weight is right and you have bone in so...?"' Definitely poor customer service. Packages are greasy. Shared the annoyance with our ranch. I won't purchase meat again from anyone who uses this outfit.
We were very unhappy with the service we received processing 6 half hogs here. 4 of the 6 halves had incomplete ground sausage orders, meaning my customers only got 1 of the 2 flavors they ordered. Another customer of mine requested bone less cuts and received bone in cuts, and yet another told me their meat packages were so disgusting and covered in grease they needed to wash their hands after loading their car up. After calling multiple times a day and leaving several messages over the course of 2 weeks the recourse they gave me was "go pound sand". The manager was extremely rude, cussing at me over the phone and implying - no - outright accusing my customers of not knowing what they ordered and the mistake was not on their end. I will not be returning back. I will take my animals to any of the other butchers who will show some respect to their customers, and deliver on their promises.

I read some reviews on this site saying negative things about how the meat is packaged in vacuum bags and done poorly and the owner or coworkers are rude and what have u. I for one had no problem and the man that helped me was great and answered questions I had asked. Friendly as far as am concerned.
Terrible service. I asked for the entire pig, none to go to waste. Didn't respond, then the guy said yeah that's a tough order, and difficult to do. Nothing he can do about it now. So I'm just stuck paying for a service that I didn't entirely receive.

I've been using Rising Star for a few years now. I'm shocked by what some of the reviews have to say. Ty and his staff have always been professional and excellent at everything they do. With the number of cattle that I've run through his operation He's had more than enough opportunity to screw something up. Happy to say he never has. I'd give him seven Stars if it gave me the option. I think some people just aren't happy no matter what.
