Readington River Buffalo Farm

I Was out visiting family at The Fudge Shoppe, in Flemington NJ and while enjoying a scenic back roads drive I stumbled on this Diamond! My Aunt and friend both shouted BUFFALO 🦬 and I myself was in disbelief what my eyes saw! Live Buffalo? In New Jersey? Then we noticed the sign, Buffalo Store open Saturday & Sunday. Follow the arrows! So we did! Down the long scenic driveway we were greeted by a few majestic horses, just grazing and enjoying the Sun. Very clean grounds, outside and in the store itself. The owner was polite and explained to us a little history about his family business. We purchased some fresh bison patties, hotdogs, and jerky. The owner proudly said he makes himself. We ate the jerky on the car ride back to Montclair and it was delicious! Had a little kick to it, I loved it! As did my Aunt and friend both stated. Today I’m firing up my grill to enjoy the Burgers and hotdogs. The store is exclusively open only Saturday & Sundays! Pay them a visit, buy some steaks, patties and definitely get the jerky! Support your local store owners and farmers! Support their Families, it’s the Americans dream! I will definitely be back!!

How cool is it that there is a bison farm in New Jersey! They are so cool and laid back, and they have a herd of 75 bison. The meat prices are not bad, I got 3 hanger steaks for $60. They were awesome! Although one cautionary idea, they are frozen so you're not shopping to grill that day. We will definitely be back, love this place.

Ok so we all should know by now that there are no Buffalo in NJ. But there is a farm with big ole BISON. Those creatures are pretty cool and seem to be well managed and taken care of. Follow the signs to the shop! Basically a shed with coolers/freezers. The ground bison was so delicious I had to go back for more and brought friends. Pretty sure this will be a diet staple. Truth is I don’t even like ground beef …it’s boring. Not so with the bison meet. Very flavorful. Filets in the freezer. Also for sale are farm eggs…. On my first visit I was told not organic … second visit hmmmm the attendant said they were organic🤣. I also saw honey for sale. I tried the ravioli but was not impressed. Maybe hotdogs next time.

Visited during their "Red Dog" day. Annual celebration showing off the baby bison. Lots of good food, drink, and entertainment. Enjoyed the educational displays and especially the bison. Who would have guessed NJ was home to a buffalo farm !

Beautiful view..best to come early for sunrise or late for sunset. Great area! Theres little farm stands all over.

Viewed from the road only, but lots of baby buffs in the pasture, kicking, jumping and racing among the large herd. From Woodschurch road, unpaved street behind farm, saw 3 massive bison rolling, grazing, shaking those huge horned heads. A bit of the original farm is preserved on that road, too...nice old buildings and picnic grounds. Don't forget to stop at farm store on weekends...buffalo meat available in NJ!

I enjoy the burgers and hot dogs from here! The burgers must be like 90/10 because they shrink very little. They have a very unique flavor. Not gamey, just good. Stop in and get some on a Saturday! I have not tried other cuts yet but I will soon!

Can you help me if they sell buffalo oil here?

Expensive.

Fantastic burgers and steaks. So heart healthly. The facts about health benifts were amazing to me. Was always afraid to try, but actually was surprized my family n I liked it. Didn't have a gamey taste at all. Wish they were closer to me.
