The farm emphasizes responsible stewardship and provides opportunities for local markets and farm visits.
They have an awesome meat selection and we've never gotten anything that was bad. Everything is very fresh and packaging sizes are great for families. Most often, they have different cuts of chicken and eggs. There are times, however, that they have beef, lamb, and pork. While you wait you have the opportunity to listen and watch the workings of the farm. It's a great place to visit, especially if you want great farm to table meat!
Amazing place. Goat yoga was incredible! You can tell the owners/farmers take a ton of pride in what they do. 10/10 would recommend.
We are so happy we came across Providence Farm (on Shop NC Farms on Facebook). I contacted them about buying half a pig. Joy was extremely easy to work with, and helped a complete novice through the buying process from how much meat to expect, to going over the cut sheets on the phone. She provided tons of information about their far, and their heritage breeds. And the meat is absolutely the most fabulous tasting pork (and mutton) that we've come across! It has a rich, dark color, and the most amazing flavor. The ground pork and mutton have practically no fat or water (so you're getting mostly meat, which isn't the case with ground meats I find the grocery). My kids are now begging me for mutton meatballs with Greek herbs. The roast in the crock pot came out fork tender with such an amazing flavor you didn't even need sauce! We will definitely continue to buy our meat from Providence Farms! Addition: Still buying pork, lamb and chicken from Providence Farms. It is consistently high quality at great prices and it's wonderful to see such a healthy, sustainable farm.
Joy and the team at Providence Farm are welcoming, knowledgeable, and downright wonderful to see. Fresh bread, eggs, and homemade soaps. A wonderful variety of meats from pasture-raised pigs, lamb, and poultry. Textiles, locally turned bowls, wool products, and other unique and unexpected home wares available. A quick drive from Greensboro for a totally pleasant experience.
Beautiful, sustainable working-farmstead with lots of animals to see- chickens, working dogs, horses, baby goats. Great high-quality meats (poultry, lamb and pork), soaps, and home-spun wool items. Fun, educational events such as pre-k storytime, Saturday knitting circle, homeschool/school field trips, artisan market days, workshops for kids and workshops for adults. The owners are fantastic and very knowledgeable. Support small businesses like this who love their animals and steward the land they farm from. **This is a working farmstead (someone’s house) so don’t just pop by expecting to see the animals. See website for hours and availability, they also set up at farmers markets and off-site events.
Thanks to Covid19 we found this farm. First had chorizo which was amazing! Second trip we got chicken tenderloins which were phenomenal. Never had chicken that looked or tasted any thing like this, No more grocery store chicken or pork! Worth any drive to get to this farm! The phrase “know your farmer know your food” fits perfectly, amazing people who are beyond awesome at what they do!
Wonderful selection of pork products that are sweet and delicious. Ribs cooked for New Years Day were absolutely amazing. Recommend them to everyone!
