Primal House

We were there for the soft/hard launch the day before Firestone Festival per a recommend from my friend's down the road in Templeton because they know I can’t say no to a good local butcher shop. Staff was super friendly and happy to answer all my goofy specific questions about the food and beer and gave us a taste of the bone broth. We ended up going back heading out of town for more goodies (all the salamis, bone broth, beef tallow) Haven’t gotten to all of our loot yet but definitely worth a visit!!!

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!! Beautiful bone-in pork chops that were so delicious. Guests at a private dinner I did could not believe they naturally were so flavorful. Susan and Alyssa are great to work with and the staff when I picked up my order were just as amazing!

Simply perfect! After seeing the sign from the freeway many times we decided tonight was the night to check it out. The meat market has an excellent collection of premium cuts and the wine and beer list covers a decent selection. We enjoyed eating on the patio as the dining area was crowded and the live music made it a bit louder than our conversation. The dining area was beautiful with low lighting, high back tables with barstools and a beautiful bar area. Our meal was simple perfection. There are currently not a lot of choices on the menu, but they got it right with a cheesesteak sandwich that is tender, juicy, and melts in your mouth. The burger likewise is perfect. There was so much flavor, with house smoked bacon, and lots of juice (ask for extra napkins). The only drink we tried was a house made iced tea/sweet tea mix which was refreshing.

Warm hospitality. Delicious food. Incredible butcher shop. Wonderful wine and also beer on tap. Personally love the Cream Ale. Nice Vanilla notes. Love the fresh produce and local products. A must stop in Paso Robles | Templeton

I’ve had the pleasure of taking several classes at Primal House, and each one has been a delightful adventure! Every class is uniquely crafted, offering a wealth of knowledge that keeps me coming back for more. As someone who isn’t new to culinary education, I’ve learned an incredible amount here—thanks to the fantastic hands-on approach. What truly sets Primal House apart is the incredible team. They infuse each session with fun, making the learning experience truly enjoyable. The instructors are not only knowledgeable but also passionate, sharing their expertise with enthusiasm. Plus, the supportive staff is always there to assist, ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for everyone. I feel incredibly fortunate to have such a culinary gem in our community. If you haven’t checked out their classes yet you should, you won't regret it!

Great atmosphere! Butcher, Brewery, and Eatery all in one. Delicious dinner and beer! Glad to see Primal House in Paso.

My mom turned us on to this place and I was very surprised. We went and had lunch with some family members and we were greeted by the manager, which is a very good thing. Plus plus plus in my book when manager makes an en effort to see people. The burger was amazing, with flavors I have not had before. My mom had the cheese steak and that is her favorite. The butcher shop part of this place is also very good. Many different kinds of cuts and thick pieces too. Maybe a little pricey but I know there is not to much around that's cheap anymore. I dont mean cheap meat, I mean great value. Live music is happening here and they also have a private balcony. Another new place people should try out. Primal House. Give it a go.

A happy place to chill out and fill up💕 🍔 🍷🍺🥩 This afternoon we discovered a fabulous new South Paso Robles eatery/butcher/gathering place off of Ramada Drive. The Primal Burger & fries were delicious! Our waiter, Clayton, was attentive, knowledgeable and professional, as were all the staff. Thank you PRIMAL HOUSE for making our Sunday outing a happy and tasty experience! We’ll return again to hear the live music and sample more food and libations ✨

Primal is fantastic! It’s a must try. Thanks to Susan we found this hidden gem! We especially love the beef ribs at the butcher shop. We can’t wait to try the bacon that has no nitrates.

Wonderful service!! Great burger... crispy on the edges like a smash burger but incredibly juicy! The corn ribs on the Specials menu were excellent. Crispy fries, served in a little jar... super cute! And we tried the cream.ale, the stout and farmhouse. All fantastic. We will visit again!
