The New site is huge!!! So much space, you’re not bumping into anyone. They have different meat cutting stations. No cross contamination of meats. Very nice, the store part is huge, different freezer sections, deli. They just opened on yesterday 10/27. They still have to stock up on some more things. I feel the prices are good but some things you can find cheaper. Like greens $1.69/ lb that’s too much. Smoked meats $2.29-$3.49 as well. Some prices were outrageous / I think they do this because a lot of people shop with there SNAP benefits. The EBT was down. Call before going people were leaving because the machine was down. LOTS OF PARKING
Good selection of quality meats beef, chicken, pork and even some fish & seafood. You pick out whatever meat you need there yourself by the pound. The place is clean and they have a butcher station that has employees who will cut whatever you need. Be sure to bring a sweater as the store is a big refrigerator.
The new location on Roosevelt provides an even greater selection of fresh meats. Great job on the relocation.
You cannot go wrong with this place, you literally can get cases of chicken wings, drumsticks and other meats as well that you can pick by yourself. They offer plastic gloves for you to grab your own meat and place into clear plastic bags. My household does not have to grab meat for almost a month. Worth the drive. Going early when they open up which around 8am.
Beautiful new building.....and jacked up prices to help pay for it. Everyone I talk to had attitudes especially the little Frankie Valli looking manager named Jimmy. My mom asked him what was the price on an item and he mean mugged her and with a very snappy attitude gave the price and mean mugged her as she walked off as well. The only staff members who were very pleasent was the security, the young cashier and the other manager on shift. I will not be spending any money in this joint again.......and unless you don't mind paying a left lung for food you shouldn't either
Their meat may or may not be cheaper, but they are not messing around when they say "quality meats". Everything I got was great. I will definitely be coming back for more meat. I got: Smoked turkey, chicken wings, while catfish, beef shanks, ground beef, couple of different kinds of sausages.
I got alot of meat for a much lower price than I thought, being in Chicago. My mom and sis been going for a bit, but my 1st time. Wear a hoodie for the cold, be respectful and patient as the rows are narrow and get you some quality meat/fish at great prices. Of course, they got a dry section. With multiple lane checkout.
The place looked very nice, we picked out our groceries but at the cashier line found out they're link machine was down. Why not have a sign up? Instead we're finding out when we get to the cashier. That made upset and was a waste of my time getting up catching the bus, and shopping to be let down. We was so excited because we saved our link to buy fresh meat.
I visited this shop for the first time today. It was a bit crowded, but everyone did a line when they needed to a there was staff walking around helping to answer questions. The other customers were nice also, even helped me when I was in line to cut the catfish I bought. Felt like a nice community in the store.
Great new location. It is much more expansive than the previous location. It has ample parking and meat counters. They have meat specific counters for each section providing faster service.
