Between the fresh buttery bread, the warm turkey, ham and unique sauce this was the freshest and most satisfying sandwich I've ever had. My Fiancee had the BLT and the bacon was so good we got both a pound of bacon as well as a loaf of fresh bread. The selection of healthy drinks made the meal complete. We drive from Williamsburg, about an hour and 15 minutes depending on traffic just to enjoy this extraordinary cuisine. I know some of you might say "it's just a sandwich" but trust me go and try for yourself and I guarantee you will take something to go. Oh I snuck in a giant cinnamon roll in a pan, don't tell the fiancee.

Went in to see their market meats: bought breakfast meat/ sausage & prosciutto =both delicious Purchased a Steak sandwich & side salad for a late lunch. Steak was larger than the chibitto roll, but had more fat than I was expecting due to the price charged. It was still delicious & my pet dog enjoyed the pieces of fat. Only negative, No handicapped entrance. I am cane dependent & had steps to enter/exit.

Guy F was not wrong. Wow. This place knows their meats. Paid a visit for lunch with the wife, and we were not disappointed. The Roast Beef sandwich was amazing. I don't have words to describe it because it was one of the best I've ever eaten. My wife had the ham and cheese and was blown away. She said it was a ham and cheese on another level. As a matter of fact, she purchased ham from the butcher shop before we left. That says alot because she is very picky with ham. The atmosphere is great. The decor is rustic and antique. It really is a great image. The only suggestion is guidance. We had to ask about how to order and what we needed to do to dine in. As first timers, it was a little confusing, but the staff was terrific and guided us as to what to do. Well done by all involved. Will be back.

My daughter had been here twice before, and had raved about it both times. We went there for lunch yesterday. I had the chicken sandwich “Gone to the Birds” and daughter had (for the 2nd time!) the “Cleaver Burger”. We both had the fries, as well. I’ve got to say both of these sandwiches were divine. I think I’ll try the burger next time, as I could’ve devoured my daughter’s burger. 😃 My daughter described the sandwiches as “each layer complimenting the next”. Perfect description. I am not a French fry fancier. That said, I ate them all! The garlic aioli sauce that accompanied it was delicious. If you’re in Norfolk, try Pendulum. You’ll not be disappointed. I think I’ll have to buy something from their meat department next time. The meats looked wonderful.

I tend to stick with the Gone to the Birds and the cuban, but I have enjoyed literally everything I've ordered here. The staff are prompt. The local good sold there are always fun to look through. The local beer selection is solid. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Norfolk.

The Shepherd Burger is heaven if you are a lamb fan. Perfectly cooked and exactly the right amount of food paired with the side salad and Pendulum's house balsamic. My coworker loved his House Burger, and said the aged cheddar really set it off. I can't forget to mention the phenomenal beef bacon that you can purchase here, especially nice if you don't eat pork but like a good BLT. This place is always awesome and is a hidden gem.

It's been a while since my last visit but that won't happen again. The hospitality, service & food was awesome! Lots of sandwich options to choose from! The Butcher Sandwich - Roast Beef * Swiss Cheese * Caramelized Onions * Spicy Ancho Mayo * House Made Focaccia plus house salad with house-made vinaigrette! And the Cleaver Burger - House Ground Beef * Bacon * American Cheese * Caramelized Onions * Pickles * Shredded Lettuce * Marinated Tomatoes * Cleaver Steak Sauce * Brioche Roll Both excellent - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We wanted to try out as many meats offered as possible so we went with the Assistant (Roast beef, cheddar, smoked onion, horseradish sauce & focaccia bread) and the cattle baron (two beef patties, cheddar, smoked onions, pickles, shredded lettuce, tomato, mayo, bacon, and brioche buns). The assistant’s roast beef was flavorful and deliciously seasoned. The onion and horseradish sauce really brought the entire sandwich together! The cattle baron’s taste was fresh and juicy; try a delightful burger. The brioche buns were a great compliment ! As for sides, we had rosemary garlic fries with roasted garlic mayoli and a salad with a house vinaigrette. The fries were fried in beef fat and were the BEST fries we’ve ever had. Super soft while still having a crunch, the fries of our dreams and the garlic mayoli was addicting! The salad was as expected and tasted fresh. For drinks, we decided on the sprecher’s craft sodas (orange dream and ginger ale). While it had a lot of sugar, man did it make us feel great haha. The place itself feels extremely home-y and everything in the shop was made by the owners (from the tables to the giant sign outside). The staff is always so nice and helpful whenever you have any questions regarding meats (Reminder that it's a butcher shop!!) If you’re near Norfolk and ODU/Ghent, definitely visit Pendulum for their lunch special!
