Picked up a dry aged ribeye, picanha, pork chops for a birthday dinner. The steaks look fresh and well marbled. Parking lot is small but adequate. Service was good, they do wine tasting inside as well I believe.

Old school butcher shop with quality meats, seafood, and wine! I get a prime rib twice a year from here, but have gotten other cuts and seafood - excellent quality! The guys behind the counter are great! Very patient and knowledgeable. Just about everyone in the area go to place! Go early during the holidays!

This butcher shop is extremely overpriced. Every single item costs about $5–$10 more per pound compared to other markets in California. The owner claims it’s because of “better quality,” but the products come from the same supplier as other butcher shops. There’s no reason to pay so much more for the exact same meat. Honestly, it’s not worth it — save your money and shop elsewhere.

The butchers here are true artists. I asked for a specific cut for a special dinner, and they knew exactly what I needed and trimmed it perfectly. The quality of their steaks is unmatched by any supermarket.

You haven't had corned beef until you've been to Pape's. My family always gets the seasoned leg of lamb for special meals. I'm looking into seeing if they ship out of state.

My family has been ordering from Pape since last year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They’re always very helpful and are very knowledgeable about their meats and advise how to cook them including temperature and length of time it should be left in the oven. This is now our new butcher shop, very old school and we love it.

Their seasoned rack of lamb is unbelievable. I’ve been buying it for probably close to 20 years. I was not a lamb fan, but the store in Burlingame kept suggesting I try it. I finally did, and I’ve been a fan ever since. I’ve made it for practically everyone I know, and they think I’m a great cook. I’ve confessed that it’s not me, it’s Pape’s.. I can’t recommend it enough!!

Since 1958 Paper Meat Company has been offering top products, meats, fish and specialty aged meats and much more like Wagyu beef. Highly recommended

Came here for some English-cut short ribs for a braise I was making. Staff were super friendly and when I asked the guy who helped me to grab the biggest pieces of short rib from the display pile (since they were mostly pre-cut into pieces probably no more than four or five inches long), he offered to cut me up some bigger pieces straight from a fresh rack. I'm glad he did, the smaller pieces probably would've dried out while braising, and the end result for my Mother's day meal was killer! Will definitely be coming back.

They have fresh beef, lamb, chicken, pork,some seafood(salmon, shrimps, and scallops..etc.), a little bit spices and ramen, and some pots and knives. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The quality of the meat is great. I have been coming to this place weekly and loving it.

Super friendly staff, they helped me a lot with my questions about the Japanese wagyu! The meat quality is amazing and they accurately told me the portion size I would need for the amount of people I was feeding! Would definitely come back!

I'm so glad that I was introduced to this amazing butcher shop. Great selections of meat and seafood, very friendly and helpful staff. Extra bonus that they vacuum seal your meats for you if you plan to sous vide. Worth the drive from SF and have been back every couple of weeks.

The only place I trust to get good meat. I always pick up my filet mignon here and the fish has always been fresh. It's definitely worth the trip to this spot. Worth mentioning is the truffle butter they sell here. The price is great and it's crazy good. Edit: I'm going to go out on a limb here and say everything is good here. Chilean Sea Bass, pork tenderloins, NY steak and dry aged, bacon, pork belly, chicken breast, and the giant prawns. I seriously no longer buy meat any where else. You can even get pig back fat!

Very nice butchers. Nice selection of meats but we didn’t notice if there were grass fed options. They did not have wild caught salmon though which was a little disappointing.

Great selection and excellent service. If you have your own sauce, they can help you include it as marinade in your purchase and vacuum pack it. Very friendly crew. I have been shopping there for years. My favorites are the Dry Age Ribeye Sous Vide (which are steaks already vacuum packed, seasoned with rosemary and a slice of wagyu fat) and Oxtail.

A great butcher where you're going to find quality beef, pork, poultry, and fish. If I'm looking for the best beef, I make the trip up to Olivier's in San Francisco, but if they're closed or I need something closer to home, Pape's is a great alternative. You won't be disappointed.

Moved in the area a couple months ago and this is been my go-to meat joint. Simply put: best personalities I’ve ever interacted with at a butcher shop. The staff is supremely kind and passionate about their roles and it feels authentic. The meat is amazing and always high-quality. The whiskey selection is also very nice.
