Over the Moon Farm and Flowers

We can’t say enough positive things about Over the Moon Farm. We have been getting their humanely raised poultry and pork for several years now and we couldn’t be happier. We had one of their whole chickens for dinner the other night and it tasted just the way we remember poultry use to taste- juicy and full of flavor; and enough for several meals. This place is a real gem! Thank you Anna and Shae for your hard work and dedication!

Cannot recommend Over the Moon enough! Their pork has turned our family, who rarely ate pork, into frequent pork eaters! Their humanely raised Berkshire pork is out of this world (and over the moon 😏😏). We ordered a whole hog to split with some friends and will definitely do it again! We’ve also tried several of their other products (salami, beef) and have been so impressed. They offer free local delivery which makes supporting this local business even easier!

What can one say about this amazing farm/business? Over the Moon Farm and Flowers provides THE BEST meats and flowers for whatever you are looking for. Their animals are humanely raised, well taken care of, and knowing where your food ingredients are raised and processed is super important as we all look to reduce our environmental footprint. The whole Turkey bought for Thanksgiving stole the show. I’ve never been disappointed with the chicken pieces and when possible (freezer space being the limiting factor) the whole chickens become the pieces I need and remaining parts become future meals or homemade stock to use in the future. Their Customer Service is outstanding and the free local delivery to Cedar Rapids and Iowa City is such a convenience! Looking for pork, lamb, and beef? They’ve got you covered!! Looking forward to the leg of lamb in the freezer. Will not buy my meats from anywhere else!! Additionally, I’ve now graduated to flower CSA shares for the Spring and Summer in 2023 and looking forward to what Anna and Shae bring to the table this year! There’s always a place at the table for Over the Moon Farm and Flowers!

Would recommend! I bought their Winter Soup bundle and have loved all the cuts we've tried. The sweet Italian pork sausage in particular! I recently started eating meat again and wanted to buy from farmers who treat their animals humanely. Anna and Shae do a great job - through their email newsletter and Instagram - of being transparent about how their farm operates. Ordering was easy and delivery convenient. I just wish I had a bigger freezer :)

I would like to enthusiastically recommend giving Over the Moon Farm and Flowers a try for your meat and flower needs. I have purchased chicken, turkey and pork from Over the Moon several times and have been very impressed with the quality of their products. My family generally does not prefer turkey, but the last 2 years I have made a 4 pound turkey breast roast and they have LOVED it! I also participated in their fresh cut flower CSA in the spring and summer and there is no better treat than fresh flowers delivered to your door every week. Finally, the treatment and welfare of animals is an important topic in our house, which is one of the main reasons we started purchasing from Over the Moon Farm. They raise their animals in a humane and dignified way, and you can watch it happen on a daily basis by following them on Instagram! In summary, I have been very happy with my experiences with Over the Moon Farm. The meat has been high quality, the flowers beautiful, and the customer service top notch (they are such nice people). Give them a try and you won't regret it!

Not only are the owners lovely to work with, their product is top-notch. The delivery aspect is a time saver, but most importantly, knowing where my meat is coming from, is really important to me. Shopping at big chains can be overwhelming and I don't feel confident as a consumer that I'm getting the best quality. I feel 100% confident in Over the Moon Farm and Flowers. I highly recommend!

As a matter of ethics, it matters to me that Over the Moon raises their animals humanely. I've been buying their pork at the Iowa City Farmers Market, and have been so pleased. The bacon is smoked perfectly, and has a nice meaty texture. The maple pork breakfast sausage is just the right amount of maple sweetness contrasted by a not-too-spicy kick -- so good! And the brats are the best thing off the grill. I can't recommend these products highly enough. I'm really grateful that Shea and Anna are bringing such righteous food to our community.
