Being able to source locally and sustainably grown meat is important to our family... One Straw Ranch is such a gift to our community. Our loyalty to their farm-raised beef, pork and eggs started during the pandemic when grocery shopping was challenging.... they adapted in such a beautiful way to meet the needs of the community with local pick-ups from Martin or very reasonable priced delivery options (along with the addition of products from other farmers - goat cheese, hand pies, salmon!). Online ordering is easy, meat is well-packaged and thoughtfully portioned, and their eggs are beautiful. This family pours their hearts into raising healthy and wholesome food - I feel so good about supporting them for so many reasons. I love Charlotte's weekly newsletters with quirky farm happenings, musings about the realities of farm life, and delicious recipes. And while all of that is important, it is just a bonus: they sell a very high quality product at a fair price. I encourage you to seek them out and fill your freezer! It is worth a trip to Port Townsend/Marrowstone Island even if you have to travel with a big cooler. Thank you for all that you do, One Straw Ranch!

We’ve been buying my husband boxes from One Straw Ranch for years now for his birthday as he says this is “the best meat he’s ever eaten.” More important than the taste is knowing we’re supporting a farming family that are good stewards of the animals and the land. I historically don’t eat meat myself due to disagreement with factory farming practices and difficulty finding ethical farmers who treat animals with dignity, but One Straw Ranch is changing that for me. We even recently bought a chest freezer so we can stock up and keep supporting. Thank you for what you do!

One Straw Ranch is a little miracle. Fresh eggs, beef and pork from animals grown with love and harvested humanely, this is a wonderful example of an earth-friendly local family farm. We love visiting the farm to pick up our weekly order and enjoy the weekly newsletter. It's the furthest thing from a factory farm you can get and we feel lucky to have found them. We can eat great food without guilt about harming the environment or supporting inhumane treatment of animals. Highly, highly recommended.

We have been customers of One Straw Ranch for many years and are so grateful to be able to enjoy such delicious, high quality, locally raised meat and eggs. The eggs are amazing - you might see 3 or 4 different egg shell colors in a carton of a dozen. We’ve enjoyed many of their cuts of meat, with the ground beef, pork chops, pork tenderloin, and ginger pear sausages among our favorites. It is also a pleasure to do business with the Frederickson’s - a young farm family in our community. They are devoted to what they do and always have a smile and warm greeting for their customers.

Charlotte and the whole Frederickson family obviously care deeply about their animals and the land. We bought our first pork from One Straw Ranch before we ever moved to the area. Charlotte used to set up and sell eggs, bacon, and pork cuts at the Port Townsend Farmers Market: It seems like almost 10 years ago. Now that we live in the area, we can pick up our orders right on the farm. We are able to see the animals and the way they are cared for. The regular updates from Charlotte about the farm, the animals and the family make us feel even more connected to our food . The meat is flavorful, the process of ordering is easy, we know we are supporting our community food health in general, and a lovely farming family specifically. I will never buy Big Meat again as long as the Fredericksons continue to produce such high quality local food and to care so well for the land on which it is raised.
