Music Meadows Ranch

We (me, my son and daughter-in-law) did a 4 hour horseback ride with Ashton last week and absolutely loved it. We have had some good rides and one very bad ride in the past 10 years but this last one with Ashton was amazing. I take my kids on vacations to spend time with them and want them to come away excited and they continue to gush over this ride. Ashton is close to their age and they hit it off. In addition, she was very good with a bunch of "green horns" and took her time with us. My wife was with me the last time that we had a very bad experience riding horses and I am going to try and schedule a time to take her to Music Meadows in the future. Thanks Ashton.

We have returned to Music Meadows several times and love everything about it. It is truly a wonderful home-away-from-home where we can step away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind and really connect as a family. We did the all inclusive option on our recent stay and it was incredible. We learned so much about horsemanship, and our horses really took care of us out on the trail. Madeline and Casey were excellent guides and made us feel like family. Sherry prepared delicious meals to keep us fueled for all the adventures. The trail rides were absolutely breathtaking, and the rancher's ride was so much fun! Music Meadows is hands down our favorite place to go as a family and we will be back!

My daughter and I booked the ride and lunch with Madeline and had an amazing time. There was another mom and daughter on our trip so it was a really great bonding experience. Madeline is a patient teacher who clearly explained how to properly handle, brush and saddle our horses. She gave us thorough instructions on how to ride and direct our horses when to stop and when to go. The ride through the open meadow was amazing with the mountains as our back drop. We could ride at the pace we felt most comfortable. We enjoyed an amazing lunch that Madeline prepared for us on a campfire. Kudos to the chef back at the ranch. Her barbecue sauce was yummy! Madeline has such a love of horses and easily passed that on to us. This is the best horse riding experience we have ever had!! I can not wait to go back.

A wonderful experience! My sister and I rode with our guide Paige. We were given basic training and any assistance needed to feel comfortable with the horses. We spent a couple hours trail riding around the beautiful meadow with views of the mountains and the valley. My sister, visiting from a big city, was thrilled to be cantering and trotting. It was a wonderful experience. I will definitely go again. At Music Meadows they took excellent care of both the horses and the riders.

We did their horseback riding (crystal falls trip) in August and came back in October because it was such a great experience. The trail guide teaches you about horse safety, and then you get to know your horse through brushing them and doing some of the saddling process yourself (under direction of course), which really helps you connect with your horse. The riding was excellent, the area there is extremely beautiful, and the guides customize the ride based on the needs of the group. We will be coming back here many, many times in the future

An experience of a LIFETIME. My daughter is an equestrian and for her 16th Birthday, she wanted to go to Music Meadows Ranch. We are from NY and this was a decision she made based solely on their website. So we took a leap of faith and booked our 1st trip to Colorado because of her birthday wish to go to Music Meadow Ranch. My daughter wanted to do the Horse experience and picked the 4 hour Picnic ride. I was a bit nervous because even though I have some riding experience, I wasn’t sure if I could physically handle a 4 hour ride, especially in the winter and because my old joints. Also, I wasn’t confident that I was good enough for the task. My daughter too had lost her confidence with her riding skills. However, this Ranch was like no other Ranch we had ever been to. The experience we had, from start to finish, was the best of the best. For starters, this is not your nose to tail trail ride. This is an individualized riding experience. You get exactly what you want and are capable of doing. On our first day there, Madeline gave us the BEST and most easy to understand 101 horseback riding review I have ever received in my life. It was like a clinic for beginners. For example, while we were still on the ground, she set up a mock horse and put reins in our hands and gave us a practice session. I thought to myself, if all people were given this information in the way she delivered it, then we would all be equestrians. Madeline is certainly gifted at teaching, explaining and demonstrating the information in a very practical way. That day we went out and quickly our confidence grew. I was blessed to ride with Rusty and my daughter was blessed to ride Cash. These horses were everything you could ever want in a horse, beautiful, healthy looking and well mannered. They were ‘push button’ meaning they were very responsive. Quickly my anxiety and concerns turned into pure pleasure and both my daughter and I were able to ride and just enjoy the incredible landscape, the fresh air and utter peace. The next day we went out with Casey and she was already given the information about our concerns and skill level. She too made our experience unforgettable and again we had another excellent day. On our last day, we had the pleasure to meet Elin. Once we got to open grass land, Elin said “Go! I will let you set the pace.” and my heart again overflowed with excitement and joy. All three days got to lope to our hearts content. Never in my life had I experienced such freedom, joy and peace. I will bring these memories to my death bed and relive my 3 days at Music Meadows Ranch. With much gratitude, I say thank you to everyone at Music Meadows Ranch.

The most amazing ranch experience! Elin was so accommodating and allowed me to join a day ride, the scenery is out of this world, horses are well trained & sure footed, well suited for all experience levels. Having ridden for 25 plus years, this was the most epic ride I've ever done!

Me and a group of 7 other friends visited Music Meadows Ranch for my 30th birthday. The ranch owner, Elin, and her ranch hand Madeline took us on the 3 hour trail ride. We were able to take time bonding and learning about our horses to ensure everyone was comfortable and well prepared for our ride. The ranch itself was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed that the ride was not so structured that we couldn't all move at our own pace or have some freedom to learn and try new things with our horse. Overall, this experience was 10/10 and the most memorable birthday I have had yet. Me and the group loved it so much, before we even left we were talking about how excited we were to come back and do it again in the future! We spent 3 days riding over 5 days at the ranch in late November. We had some hail, snow, and cold weather, but the staff was prepared and the ranch was still fully accessible to us. We enjoyed some of the most breathtaking views in Colorado--and we've seen a lot of the state. There were lots of routes and places to explore on the ranch. Our two kids learned a ton about caring for animals, safety, riding technique, riding at various speeds, crossing streams, and herding cattle. The staff were very patient in teaching the kids, and this also gave the adults some time to go at their own pace. We also brought two dogs, and they had a wonderful time as well. Paige was a great guide. They did a great job giving this not real experienced rider the tools to safely and enjoyably ride. Compared to previous trail rides I have done it was awesome to not just follow nose to tail but ride "on your own" but with good leadership. Crossed several streams, climbed some grades all while whatching the beautiful mountain scenery. Great experience!

Fantastic trail ride! The horses are well trained, cared for, and a joy to ride.
