Their steaks cut how you want it and very easy. Their burgers and chicken jalapeño patty and fresh mozzarella is all good. I go for the steaks and each time walk away with try something new and never disappointed as I and my friend keeps going back. Hard to find a quality butcher and meats and glad I found that in Mr.Prime Old Tyme Butcher !!! Enjoy !

Great local neighborhood butcher the husband and wife running this place are wonderful. Really good people. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon. Joe got a set right up marinated some chicken for us gave us some steaks through some corn on the cobs for us so we could have a good barbecue even gave us some seasoning for the steaks. We love this place. We absolutely loved it if you’re looking for meat in the Shore area this is the place to go.

Beautiful, family owned butcher with excellent meat. Great Italian sausage. They have a great selection, it’s actually deceiving. This will definitely be a go-to for us. It’s a million times better than any grocery store butcher.

I’m new to the area and walked into Mr Prime. Having tried other places, this is hands down the best steak in town. I had guests visiting from out of town and all commented it was the best steak they ever had!! Small and family owned, Mr Prime is a local gem!!

Best quality butcher shop, period. Hidden gem that rivals NYC steakhouse quality and beats the emerging on-trend restaurants/shops that trade on ambiance. A steak snob, I only buy steaks from Mr. Prime and come here for Bell & Evans chicken breasts that are way fresher than at your conventional amazonian grocer.

I drive all the way from Sayreville to buy meat here. Everything is outstanding! Dry aged steaks, specialty meat products and the pork chops!! Did I mention the pork chops?!? Make sure to ask for the secret seasoning for them and also grab some fig preserves to brush them with right at the end of cooking. They are life changing! And the owners are simply delightful! It's like a step back in time to how business owners used to treat their customers.
