This company in years past did ok. My last time there was horrible and I feel that I either don’t have my meat or if I do they ruined it or combination of both. I asked for 5% fat added it is close to 25%. I cannot even taste my elk. They also did not save parts of the meat I requested. I asked for vacuum packed and I got meat tubes and freezer paper.. Disappointing to bring meat home like this

We have taken 4 cow Elk to Mountain Meats the last few years. They do a fantastic professional job butchering! They cryovac the meat nice and tight for extended freshness. We highly recommend using them! Great friendly USA local patriot folks!

I've used many meat processors for our Elk over the years. This was one of the best experiences. We dropped off our elk at about 1 pm, after a really tough slog getting it out. Timberly and Gary had it processed and ready for us at 8:30 am the next morning. The packaging was clean, boxed correctly and nearly frozen. It was -5 that morning and well below zero all the way to Idaho Springs so our meat actually froze solid in the cooler in the back of our truck. The price was about half of what we would expect to pay for an Elk in Denver, and the quality was better. We had a package of their hamburger the night we got home and it was delicious. I'll be happy to use them again!

I took the biggest elk I have ever shot to Mountain Meat and received less meet back then any other elk. I’ve processed myself. My elk should’ve had 35 to 40 backstrap steaks and we received 10. I will go back to processing my own meat, now I know how they do a two day turn around.. I believe we were shorted 70 to 100 lbs of elk.

Did a great job on my partner's bull elk and feel like he got all the meat back. Very accommodating just good people! I would drive across the state for there service. I usually process my own but they are so good I think they are worth it. More than I can say for most of my experiences with processers.

Sketchy. They don't weigh the animal, so there's no way to verify your meat return. I'm pretty sure they didn't expect me to ask for my elk ivories. They were not tapped to the horns, so I'm pretty certain they were hoping to keep them. Vacuum sealed meat looks good, but you're really at their mercy when it comes to what you get back. With limited options in the area, what can one do other than process it yourself. . .

Thank You Mtn Meats for taking good care of our two mule deer and Elk. They rushed the order so we could return home to Tennessee and did a good job on our European mounts. Nice folks.

I take great pride in processing my game and rarely have a good experience with someone else processing the meat. I have hunted all over the us and occasionally have to use a processor when hunting out of state. I hunted in Craig, CO last October with 5 other guys and we all took elk. We visited MMP, spoke to the owner and his wife, and they accommodated all of our requests. The facility was clean, the service was top shelf, and the cuts and packaging were outstanding, My favorite part of the hunt is processing and cooking my game. MMP did a great job and made the experience easy and enjoyable. Thank you!

We used Mountain Meats every year while hunting in Craig until 2021. We tagged out on deer two days in to our hunt. We dropped three deer and just asked for the meat to be deboned and bagged for travel home. Two days after the last deer was dropped we went to get meat and had to wait outside for nearly two hours (I understand there was a high demand due to the number of animals harvested that third season). What we got was completely unacceptable. The last deer we dropped was cut just as we asked. When the other two came out it was clear they had just cut carcass into quarters after we arrived....all bones still in place and they didn't clean the meat at all. Literally dropped in our coolers with manure. When we pointed it out to the guy bringing the meat out he said there was nothing he could do! Two of us got the same thing (cape, etc) yet one was charged ~$75 more than the other until questions were asked.

Fast turn around- great service!!! Less than 24 hours after I dropped off my Bull elk, it was fully processed and …

Best butcher shop in town. They appreciate their customers.

Don't use Mountain Meat Packing. If I could give them zero stars, I would. That's all I can say. When I visited before my hunt I stopped by to see the operation. They demonstrated their vacuum sealing process and it looked great. When …

I've had two elk processed there. The quality of work is exceptional and the turnaround is very quick. Also picked up some ribeyes and they were tasty.

Timberly is an excellent representative of the whole operation. She took good care of us on the front side and the processing and packaging is superior. They did an outstanding job on our hog. Highly recommend.

Awesome people awesome prices and best meat in town. Thank you so much.

Poor customer service. Dropped off half an elk and was charged full price once it was picked up. Owner basically told me to pound sand. Crazy to think they are willing to lose a customer over $125.

Hubby had his elk processed here 3rd season 2021. The quality of the packaging, and the flavor of the ground sausages he had made are superb. Will have them process for us again!

I would rate this company zero stars if it allowed, we purchased our hog at the 4-H sale & the animal was not processed as requested. I have requested to speak with the Owner several times to discuss a resolution, as of now I have not received a call back. Will not be a returning customer!

Mountain meat packing exceeded my expectations. I am so happy I chose them. I was in a pinch for time and the owner Jeff helped me out. I would highly recommend using them if you are in the area.
