Monteith Ranch

Hunted Deer at the Monteith Ranch recently and it was a great time. Their hunting lodge is top tier, and the guides were amazing. Total package hunt with all the extras. I shot a buck and he got off a bit, but their top level blood tracking dog Elle Mae got to work and tracked him down, what a beast she is!!! Josh and Monique are the best hosts! I met some good people, a family that also came out to hunt, Definitely an amazing experience in the heart of Texas! First pic is me, second one is my new friend Rusty and his son Ezra.

My son and I both had an absolute blast with Josh and his crew. Josh and every guide out there were super friendly and patient helping my son figure out and site in his 45-70. And the food from Monique was amazing. We will for sure be booking again!

I have been 3 times for a hog hunt and am looking forward to the next. Josh and Monique and their crew are very hospitable, knowledgeable and kind. They are happy to help, approachable and not intimidating to a newbie like myself. They take you out to the blinds, load the hogs you shoot, and then will clean them for you while you kick back and enjoy a delicious meal. And I mean delicious - some of the best food I have ever put in my mouth. So grateful for the experiences I have had out there, may God continue to bless them and their families!

Had a great time with all the staff. Josh and Monique are top notch, and probably the best cooks in Texas. The guides were awesome helping our group the whole time. From sighting in guns to making our hunts successful! Thank you for all the hospitality and my first ,and second, hog. Hope to make it out next year.

It really doesn't get any better than this. The guides were great, and put me on the pigs with no problems. Even using a bolt action, I got 2 on the first night, and this is the first time I'd ever gone hunting for them! The food was great and if god forbid this ranch ever failed, they would probably make more money opening a restaurant, the brisket is THAT good. The rooms were cold at night which is great in Texas heat, the bunks were comfortable, and the people you you share the food, hunting, and rooms with were best of all. The entire weekend felt like a family reunion, and I'd only met these guys on Friday! If you wanna come to Texas and shoot some hogs, accept no substitutes.

Absolutely awesome experience. Good people (great food!) who definitely know hogs. With Hunting of course there is never a guarantee that you'll see something but these guys do such a great job that every person in our party (like 9 people) all had an opportunity to take a shot at a pig this weekend. Great experience, would do it again. 5/5

Best hunt I have ever been on! Me and 11 friends went on a hog hunt this weekend. We had great success and killed 21 hogs. The hunting was great but the fellowship was even better! Josh and Monique and their dog Ellie Mae were outstanding hosts! We all enjoyed the hunting but the eating is really the best part! Oh my goodness! Night 1 we had smoked brisket and sausage. Easily the best brisket we had ever had! Juicy with the perfect amount of bark on the edges! Paired with mac and cheese, bbq beans, and salad it really hit the spot. For dessert we had an incredible peach cobbler. Whew!!! Night 2 we had smoked ribs and chicken along with green beans, salad, and au gratin potatoes. We ate until we couldn't move! The guides, Josh, Bobby, and Paul, were outstanding and put us on the hogs. They take you right to your stand, come pick up your hogs when you shoot them, and quarter them up and put them in the walk in cooler until you're ready to head home. These guys are the real deal! Here's the best part. You really dont feel like you are on a guided hunt, you feel like you are hanging out with your friends doing what we all love to do. These folks are our friends. We had a great time on a spring hog hunt with them recently. Great accomodations, the food was amazing and the hosts and guides were friendly and super helpful with everything. They have a beautiful peice of Texas land and we would definitely go back.

We have been coming here for several years. They make you feel like family from the beginning. Food is top notch. Hunting is always great. Couldn’t ask for better in my opinion. We will keep coming back until they tell us we can’t 🤣 …
