Ordered an 8oz filet medallion and was given a double butterfly end piece then was told to come back to switch it and was given a 6.6 oz piece after. Being told it was 8 and charged for 8. Bummer to be let down after trying to support a small business. Hope they do better.
Update below. My husband recently bought beef short ribs from this place, they were horrible, 3 lbs for about 42.00, horribly fatty and tasteless.We bought the same item from the previous owners and they were perfect. Find another butcher. When places change ownership it usually is bad. Update 9/6/2025, the owner refunded the money for the order, I would say this is exceptional customer service and I would definitely deal with them again.
Stew and the team are the best in the business and we are absolutely blessed to have him in our area. Great prices and the best/tastiest beef around. He has a commercial vacuum sealer that keeps steaks 100% fresh in the fridge for a week or more. Much better quality beef than what you find at grocery store and you are supporting a local business. Run don’t walk to go see Stew!
Fantastic "old school" butcher shop, plus great lunch sandwich stop. I've been coming here for a few years, and the products and services have always been first rate. The new owner, Kyle, is maintaining everything about the place that the former owner, Stew, had in place and that I have come to rely on... awesome service, excellent products, and more than reasonable prices.
Kyle and team treated us so well. I wasn’t sure what to order and they were patient and walked us through what would be best for dinner that night. We actually had a great time there and learned a little bit about the cuts they offer as well. And my 19 year old son asked Kyle about steak tartare and he taught him how to make it and it was EXCELLENT!! Will definitely be back regularly as these guys have meat that is obviously on a different level and we could taste it!

Classic old school butcher shop. They have a great selection of steaks and other meats plus some tasty sandwiches. Can't go wrong here the place hasn't skipped a beat since Kyle took over from Stu.
Warm friendly butcher shop experience. Thanksgiving time and a trip up to Monmouth to grab the dinner delicious meats and sides is a must. Great little shop easy online order phone confirmation and pick up process. Pics to be added.
Stew is the best! He’s been on Monmouth Street with Monmouth Meats for years and provides excellent service with his knowledge of all meats.
Just had two of their prime boneless ribeyes and they were the best steaks I’ve had in a very long time. Highly recommend this place.
