We were very excited to try this milk, and we also bought some heavy cream. The heavy cream was wonderful, very smooth....creamy and nice aftertaste. But the milk tasted off. We got a gallon. The date on the gallon is october 11... toasty is October2. We shook it a lot and the cream never really incorporated with the milk. There were still a bunch of chunks in it. It didn't really even taste like milk...and it left a bitter aftertaste for some time. I'm going to try a pint because I don't understand how the milk could not be good if the cream is so good. We bought it at Whole Foods on Voss in Houston.
Good little local grocer and milk shed with quality products for very reasonable prices.
Loved this place. They have all kinds of neat stuff to try and I sure did. Dr. Bonner products; I bought some Cinnamon toothpaste, Organic snacks; I got some organic fruit chews very similar to Starburst, They also carry environmentally friendly cleaning products; I decided to try some plant based Pink Lilac dish soap. Then there's their beef and milk. Both purchased and tried, yummy. And some locally made fudge cookie sandwich deliciousness. I had the Peanut butter. Wow. Don't make the mistake as I did and just buy one. If I lived anywhere in a half hour radius of this place I'd be here weekly. Sadly just visiting. Oh I also highly recommend the Grape Dublin soda. I think that's my favorite flavor. They also have some produce like potatoes and onions, and cheeses, teas, sauces, gluten free pastas and so much more. Love shopping locally and this was a great find. A bit off the beaten path but again, well worth it on my opinion.
First discovered Mill-King at several coffee shops in Austin, Texas. We are very picky when it comes to the dairy products used in our cappuccino. ( as well as the coffee)We learned that the milk used in cappuccinos included one common Ingredient, Mill-King milk. We have friends who live in McGregor and couldn’t wait to visit the actual market & creamery. You shop the market and can choice from their high quality dairy products as well a many other items you can’t find in the stores such such as cheeses , organic natural meats , teeshirts, baking goods, farm fresh eggs, crisp fresh fruits and natural Vegetables etc. It is set up with the honor system. There is a cash box you can leave a check or cash in that envelope and write then prices and items you purchased l. If you are there on a Monday through Friday during business hours (8AM -4 PM) you can use your debit or credit card. . The raw milk comes from grass fed cows that eat from wide open pastures near Waco, Texas, keeping the cows healthy and producing quality milk. They may supplement the cow’s as necessary with feed that is GMO free as well as corn and soy-free. Needless to say, we stocked up on dairy and food and can’t wait to go back. I promise you will taste the difference and it is well worth while and then some.
Favorite place to get delicious milk/cream and great quality meats. They also have a unique selection of goods; I was able to get a sourdough starter there. They have plenty of cheese and different kinds of vegetables. They also have healthier laundry detergent and hygienic products. The people working there were wonderful and helpful. It is a bit of a drive, but we are happy to make it to support a local farm.
This was a surprise--- a country drive, and then-- a market!! What?! The cows are right there! No lie!! You can see and hear the milky wonders hoofing it around the farm!! Well the market has quite a nice variety of choices, too! Amazing! Now, I'm talking quality items. Good butter. Whole milk. Even groceries and treats!! Yes, treats. I'm a grandma. And one of the grandies came with me. So--- treats. But it's pretty easy, because they only sell the good stuff. That's what the cows said.
The only milk and cream my family drink is from here. They also have other products that is great as well.
Mill-King is wonderful! Always have milk and sourdough bread. They have been so knowledgeable while my family made the switch to healthier living with food naturally sourced locally. I always enjoy talking to the staff and learning about more recipes and food storage options.
Little store in the middle of nowhere, but has the best dairy products anywhere! No additives. Just pure dairy. It's worth the drive and the price!
Great little family owned store full of quality products and friendly staff. Their Ca Cow chocolate milk is the best!
