Changed my review from 5 ⭐️ to 1 ⭐️. I have bought meat from Mike for nearly 20 years. It used to be great. The quality has slowly declined. My last order, I bought 75# of 80/20 ground beef and 3 slabs of bacon. The meat is old, grey and so full of fat that for every pound there is about 1.5 cup of grease to drain off of it!! The bacon is mostly fat as well, there is very little meat on any of it. He knows he did wrong and it's gross!! And I wonder how many others he has done this to. I was a loyal customer however, now, I will never buy from here again.

Great place! Great made in house products. Just tried the mushroom Swiss brats, and they were very good.

First time checking out Mikes Market, which was such a cute place with Mike and his wife working along side each other. They are such friendly people and I’m happy to have found a place that makes amazing bacon cheddar burgers! The bacon wasn’t over powering which sometimes you can get when you make the burgers homemade. Can’t wait to try out some of their other burger combinations, I think I saw a brat burger there!! Also try out the freeze dried candy!! So fun!

Very bad experience. Shot a deer opening day, dropped it off and was charged 150$ upfront. Gave me a customer number which was not put on my deer. There was about 10 other deer that were also not marked sitting in the sun out back. 2 weeks later I call to check up on my deer and she rudely stated I would be charged an extra 25$ calling to see if my deer was done. Went in to pick up and she was very rude again. 185 dollars for a basic cut of a deer. I got about a quarter of one side worth of back strap also. Do not recommend

We love Mike's star market,great exceptionally friendly service, the hamburger is great tasting, we love their excellent homemade ring bologna and the summer sausage, I highly recommend this meat store in eau Claire Wisconsin!!! Follow them on Facebook, watch for deals!!!!

I stopped in to have my knives sharpened today. Awesome service and family vibe. Nice selection of meats as well as some local candies and other products. Knife sharpening is only $1-2 each. Thank you!

I have been going to Mikes for the past couple months. Every time i have gone in there i go in with a smile and my wallet ready to pay. Only to be greeted with sour and judgemental looks by the butchers in the back and occasionally the people packaging the meat. Something i’m not too concerned about. However, these looks turned into charging me more (5.99/lb to 9.99/lb). for instance, the lady weighed my order at the front at 5.99/lb. After asking to get the steaks cut in half for packaging and for the butcher (Mike) to not cut any more, because the cuts were bigger than i was anticipating, she went back and Mike mumbled something to her and gave me a look. She then rang up the order for the same steak she just weighed at 5.99/lb to 9.99/lb. not realizing it because i’m so uncomfortable in there, i bought it and left. I got home and realized what happened thinking about my previous orders. I have decided i cannot pay them to treat people this way, i will be taking my business elsewhere.

I’ve been to Mike’s several times to buy meat or have them process venison that I bring in. I have never been greeted once! I have to be the one to say hi in a nice smile in hopes I would be treated decent there or at least in return get a smile or a “how can I help you.” Everyone looks so angry that I’m so afraid to ask questions and when I do, I’m shut down immediately by short answers and angry body language. I have always given them the benefit of the doubt and returned each time but after this last encounter of how poorly their customer service is, I’ve decided that I can’t pay them to treat customers this way. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Please be kind, a little smile or have a nice day goes a long way.

Thank you Mike's for Donating Venison this year 🤗 to St Francis food pantry here in Eau Claire. I've gone here before as well and always start to have your mouth water when you walk in the doors. Great service and great prices and great Meat products as well as a few extra items.

Warning: if you bring in a deer, you will be required to purchase a sausage product from them made from your deer. That will run you anywhere from $40-$50 extra on top of the $80 processing charge. They will not tell you ahead of time about this extra purchase. You will end up paying close to $130 total. Beyond this blatant lack of communication (bait and switch, you might even call it), my wife experienced some really poor customer service that made her not feel comfortable asking questions.

I had my deer processed there a few years ago and was very happy with their service and the packaging of the steaks, chops, roasts which was all done professionally to mimic their in-store packaging using thick plastic shrink wrap that holds up well in the freezer. I also had summer sausage and snack sticks made, both of which are very good quality and packaged in the same quality shrink wrap as the steaks/chops, etc... I recommend trying the jalapeno sticks if you like a little spice.

I just stopped by to pick up some of Mike's delicious bacon and discovered they also sell candy. I bought a bag of dark chocolate-covered almonds and WOW are they good! They had a wide variety of chocolate covered nuts and gummi bears - I'll definitely be trying something else the next time I stop by.

In 1 word... AMAZING! Great cuts of meat. Superior variety of brats and burgers. Love to shop local? This is the place for all the meat you could ever wish for! 10 Stars.⭐

Best local meat/butcher shop in the Chippewa Valley! Friendly, local, very reasonably priced, best meats in the area! Thanks to Mike and his crew! God bless.

Went here for the first time. Good customer service. Got chicken breast in a bourbon sauce frozen packet, some ground chuck and a sirloin steak. Chuck was good and sirloin was ok. Chicken not good. The problem was that the first Breast I took out was as big as my head! Do you know what that means? It means it was so plumped up by hormones. That’s not good! I have never seen a chicken breast sooo big. You can Google what that means. I was so scared to eat it. We ate one half of a breast. Bourbon wasn’t even that flavorful. We threw the rest away. The second breast was big too but not as big. Very disappointed. Won’t be back.

I've taken deer here twice and both times were just bad experiences. Their website says $110, when we showed up they rudely told us it was actually $150. That's a big difference. I can't help but wonder why they would falsely advertise their prices. I also searched their website for any info I could about the condition they wanted the deer (we were given an already caped deer from a friend who took the head), and when I couldn't find anything, I called to make sure it was ok. They said yes. When we got there they were condescending and disrespectful. The man got angry and told us we were ametuers who didn't know what we were doing (the legs were broken, which is partly why we paid for help to hang/process this one). We have processed countless deer in our lives. People are paying you $150 so they don't have to deal with the hassle of processing their own deer, they deserve to be treated respectfully. I'm sad to say they lost our business.

This place is by far the best place to get your brats, holiday hams, steaks and so on. I am a regular customer. Friendly service and great products. If you are in Eau Claire or near Eau Claire I suggest stopping by this great store.

Love their bulk packs of boneless chicken breasts - not all fatty and pumped full of flavoring like in the grocery stores. Tons of choices on brats. Really good venison processing too.

Best place to buy any kind of meat. You pay a little more than you would at grocery store but you're getting pure meat, not stuff full of flavoring, preservatives, dye and hormones. Meat is professionally vacuumed sealed and won't get freezer burn. Staff is friendly and knowledgable.

Terrible for venison processing, only got 1/2 my meat back, 2 roasts 6 packages of steaks and the rest bagged up as scrap from 2 deer, 1 package of steaks had leaves, dirt and hair in it. Over priced as well

Highest quality meat in the area at grocery store prices! My favorites are the Ribeyes, bacon blue cheese burgers and the smoked bacon. Keep up the good work!!

Excellent customer services, which is something to be sought after in this day and age, steak I bought was juicy and Delicious also I bought some great pepper jack cheese.

It's the best place to get your meat and other things. People are pleasant and eager to help. It smells so good in there.
