Mercy Slaughter is a slaughterhouse that primarily offers halal meat services, focusing on humane treatment of animals during the slaughtering process. They provide customers with the option to select animals for various religious ceremonies, such as aqiqah and Qurbani, while also emphasizing cleanliness and proper standards. However, customer reviews indicate mixed experiences regarding service quality and pricing.
excellent experience with Mercy Slaughter. From start to finish, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism, care, and respect. The animals were healthy, clean, and treated humanely, and the entire process was performed according to proper halal (zabiha) standards.
The peaceful and calm slaughtering energy that is sold isn’t one that I witnessed and experienced. My spouse and I stopped by to check this place out as well as gather prices. There was no one in the front to greet the customers and many customers walked around back to look for someone. My spouse and I followed, the animals looked traumatized, the owner and few workers were in the area with the animals and my spouse and I heard the owner speaking harshly to a worker. The owner then yelled to the customers, “ go back to the front......” he seemed angry, frustrated and annoyed. I simply don’t believe this was an atmosphere of mercy, it appeared to be propaganda and over priced goat and sheep. Seems to me the video and marketing is aimed to hustle those who seek Halal meat. Needless to say, I will never go back and suggest those who are buying to do their research. *05/16/2023 In response to the "owner" you are being dishonest and it confirms what I shared above. I am educated and emotionally aware of your "marketing" hustle and many other people who were there with me that day SEEN with our own eyes and heard with our own ears what occurred. No one challenged your rules nor systems and many customers who were there that day who "HAVE" purchased from you stated they would not be back. YES!! You are correct, I have NEVER purchased from you as I stated above and PRAISE GOD that I spared my family the experiences of HATEFULNESS with consuming your meat.
Everything about this place was great. I’ve been to some shady slaughter houses before where it didn’t even feel like the meat is halal, but this place was truly the opposite of it. I went to do my sons aqiqah here for two lambs. Price was fair, place was super clean, and the guy who demonstrated the process was extremely helpful. This was my first time I slaughtered an animal, so I’m happy this place set the bar. Would come again and recommend
Over priced and not honest when dealing with customers. When I asked why it is expensive, the owner says d because Christmas time!! Where is the mercy then? I had only one experience and NEVER do it again. I advise people to go to different slaughters and there are many cheaper ones in the area.
We were there for this aid in order to get sheep. They are organized, once you pay,.you choose the animal that you want based on the price you pay. Then, they slaughter and ask you what part would you like to get from animal and how you want it to cut. All progress were done in less than 1 hour. I would definitely recommend for everyone.
The worst place ever the owner promise u that he gone give u the hole goat then it the end pieces are missing. Also we had to wait over 10 hours till we finally had to tell the owner either give us our goat or the money. Even had to call the law just to get our produced. We are never doing business with this place if u looking for place is best to go somewhere else.
We had the experience of doing our Qurbani there yesterday. The process of slaughtering the animal by the butcher was very humane and all requirements were met. The process of token, getting animals booked, payment, selection was very hectic and could be avoided. We went there 3 times before but they didn't let us select the animal. Animals are a little expensive. We will go there again next year.
I went to Mercy Slaughter for my third aqiqah, and it was a tremendous experience--both in how humanely the animals were dealt with and the knowledge of the gentleman who handled the animals. The place was also clean and the meat was provided in a timely manner. I wholeheartedly recommend Mercy Slaughter.
I went here on Eid to do my Qurbani. Horrible experience! First they take cash/check only. You know things are shady when a merchant doesn't accept credit cards, if they did, customers can complain and can easily file a complaint through their credit card company. Always proceed with caution with a merchant not accepting credit cards since cash/check becomes a non reversible transaction. I came in around noon on Eid and the cheapest goat they had was $240. The guy before me had a cheaper goat reserved but they gave it away to someone else. Whats the point of reserving a goat if they end up giving it to someone else? Also just fyi his goats go down in price the next day after Eid. Mercy has a great video on youtube depicting how they sacrifice the animals but they don't practice the "merciful" way of slaughtering like they show on the video. Because of the shear number of goals that need to be slaughtered, the goats/lambs are rarely relaxed and die in a panicked state. I wanted to do the sacrifice myself but they prevented me from doing so (even though I told them I had permission from the owner). The workers are young, poorly trained volunteers. Also when the goat was cut, the slaughterer didn't even ask me for whose name the goat should be sacrificed in! He just cut it and walked off.. The next step was to get our goat skinned and cut which we ended up waiting 4 hours! They only have 2 machines to cut meat so it takes a LONG time. People in line get rowdy and irritated (kind of reminded me of Hajj) One customer even went as far as to cut in line and give a worker some bribe money (which he gladly accepted) to get his goat cut faster... The owner is a great hard working guy with a great merciful way of slaughtering animals but not on Eid. Come to this place on any day EXCEPT Eid!
Assalamu Alaikkum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa barakatuhu, By Far One of the Worst Slaughter House in Houston. We went to give Qurbani for Eid Al Adha 2017 and by the way this guy Sam treated was pathetic. Goats were very much over priced, we paid 340$ for a goat and the meat we got was just around 28 Lbs. Were as there are number of farms that give Goats from 250$ and we get atleast 35-40 Lbs of meat. He literally abused us with his words and he doesn't keep up his words. When we went to the farm , he assured the slaughtering will be done and we will get the meat in an hour. We were the first to be in the farm and by the time we finished everything and started from the farm it was 2:45 pm. Its a total Waste of time , we lost our dignity and our respect by going to this farm. In Sha Allah, we will never come to this place again. And will request our friends also not to waste their time, money , energy and dignity by coming here.
May God reward your team for trying your best to treat the animals in the way God has taught. This is a HUGE service to the animals, the community, the workers God-willing. We can look at the ways of the current US meat industry for comparison. May God help us to be thankful and increase you all in goodness in this life and the next Ameen.
Clean, healthy animals. Professional, quality service. Fair price. Been coming here for years - just went today and will be back again soon. Highly recommend.
Many fake reviews from Islamophobic here. Expect price might be increased and service quality might be dropped during crowded season thats normal every where.
Family owned business, very nice with animals so even i have never tried halal before i think i love the experience, healthy livestock and friendly family, very clean slaughtering and good quality fresh meat.. highly recommended
Taylor, are you Muslim? You must pretend to be since you went to mercy slaughter for eid.... So let me just remind you that: Allah the All Mighty said in Quran: “O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting) . And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful”. [049:012] “No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc).” [056:025] Brother Sam Kouka came with videos, proof from Quran and sunnah, as a mercy to animals, he dedicates his all life to the propagation of the message of Allah, may He rewards him in this dounia and hereafter. And you only came with your snack's tongue to criticize facts that only show your weak faith and impatience. I do not believe one word of your comment and even if it was true still, your are committing a big sin. You obviously know the owner and instead of talking directly to him, you come here in his back? What is the real purpose of your comment? or do you have any personal interest behind it? Narrated from Abu Hurayrah (R.A) that the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh) said: “Do you know what gheebah (backbiting) is?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “Saying something about your brother that he dislikes.” It was said, “What if what I say about my brother is true?” He said, “If what you say is true then you have backbitten about him, and if it is not true, then you have slandered him.” Narrated by Muslim, 2589 It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (R.A) said: The Messenger of Allaah (pbuh) said: “Whoever has wronged his brother with regard to his honour or anything else, let him seek his forgiveness today, before there will be no dinar and no dirham, and if he has any good deeds to his credit they will be taken from him in a manner commensurate with the wrong he did, and if he has no good deeds, then some of his counterpart’s bad deeds will be taken and added to his burden.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2317.
A very useful facility for the Muslims in Houston area. I did the aqiqa of my daughter with them. A bit overpriced but otherwise excellent service.
I have been doing it this way for years now. They deserve a dignified and respectful final day of life.
Terrible customer service. They lied to us about multiple things and were rude about it as well. Stay away from this place. Not worth your time..very very bad customers services I went there 9am to 3pm .
Good place to shop and very vast variety of good etc but double check prices Near by cause I found some cheaper deal on some food stuff. All employees are very friendly and professional.....
First experience was amazing. Customer service was amazing. I would definitely Recommend and will for sure be going back.
