McDaniels Farm primarily focuses on selling dairy products, particularly milk and cream, to support local consumers. The farm offers Guernsey milk, which is appreciated for its taste, although there are some concerns regarding its shelf life. The business emphasizes local farming and community support.
Have been buying milk from here since 2022. The milk is $7/gallon now. We loved the milk throughout the winter, but now that it's hot again, the milk doesn't last as long. It has to do with hand milking, so the milk doesn't get chilled right away. It only lasts us 3-4 days lately, while the winter batches lasted over a week. (Edit: the owner said it machine milked. Nonetheless, it doesn't last as long as milk we get from another farm, despite using the same fridge, but I do prefer the Guernsey milk more, so I still like it, just have to use it fast) We get backup milk from another farm as well. It lasts over 2-3 weeks. Same fridge. I wish they put dates on their milk or chill it down quicker. It's unfortunate to buy it just for it to go bad after 3-4 days. Love the cream. We make ice cream with it. Delicious! But again, it's a hit or miss. Sometimes we get a good batch and sometimes not so much.
Have Not seen Eggs since October 2024 here. But this is a great way to support your local Farmer. I do wish the cream and the milk was not separated thou. I used to buy gallons like that in Colorado. Oh well
I love the taste of the milk.
