Okay... let me preface this by saying that I am not a SD resident... but both my Mom and Dad were born and raised there. I'm obsessed with chislic. It's one of my favorite foods, and Kleinschmidt always has it when I am camping or passing through.

Best locker in the area, fast friendly service, and all the products sold are amazing. Highly recommend the sausages and the brats. Try it all, you won't be disappointed.

The reason people don't shop local. I called on Wednesday during my hunting trip in Colorado to see if they could process an elk. The lady said on the phone that it has to be completely deboned. I thought that was kind of odd but ok its a busy time of year and I wanted to have the meat done locally. Friday morning we deboned the elk and took it to the locker. They guy that said to meet him by the back door brought a little tub on a little cart for an elk. They quickly asked us just to carry the coolers in. We explained that since we had carefully cut the meat off the bone that we would like flat irons cut from the shoulder. We were told that "they don't have time" to cut steaks, etc that they only grind. So I was like ok I guess I'll take that shoulder cut, back strap, and tender loins home and cut them. Then they started to look at the meat and said that none of it was trimmed and that we wouldn't want the trimmings in the grind. No duh my family and I have been eating game meat forever. Apparently, they are so incapable that they can't even trim meat for grinding. The same lady I had talked to on the phone said I could take the meat to Dakota Archery and they would get it ready and then I could bring it back. I would them I wasn't going to pay twice and my father said we weren't going to do the work for them. I told them, to for get it and we will just take the meat with us. All we got was a a tiny sorry from the guy in back. I had to purchase a freezer to take care of the meat while I find someone capable of meat processing. Wish I would have had the professionals in Colorado do the job.

I came here after a friend recommended Steiners as a great, local meat locker. I have not been disappointed at all. The sausage is juicy, the beef is great tasting and the prices are more than fair. The service here is always friendly and the brats are great, with many different types to choose from.

I've lived in Yankton now for about 7 years. I always got my meat from a grocery store or from back in my home town when I visited. A friend of mine at work suggested Steiner's. Holy cow (no pun intended). I ordered a couple ribeyes and they cut them fresh. They were just fantastic, the marbling was beautiful. They have an awesome, awesome cheese selection as well. Their jerky is addictive as hell. I kick myself every time I walk in because I waited 7 years to find a place to get some amazing meat items. You won't go wrong here, at all. Great service, amazing prices. Damn good meat. This is the only place I go now.

Bought jerky, sausage, beef sticks and steaks. Meat is very good but the service was sub par. Guy at the counter was not very personable. No fresh steaks unless you want to wait for them to be cut, otherwise your choice is frozen meat.

We're full time RVers from Wisconsin. Been traveling for three yrs. If we want natural Cass hotdogs we have to make sure we bring plenty for the winter. We have never been able to find them its like there only up north. Found this Great little meat market an yes they were great,great great. Thanks GO STEINERS !
