I recently purchased a quart of chicken and sausage gumbo and ate a bowl this weekend. It was delicious!!! Wonderful flavor and it had lots of chicken and sausage in it. I will Definitely buy some more!!
Hands down the best beef I've ever had and I eat beef every single day! I grew up with the Johnson's and I can attest that their character is top notch and the quality of their beef is the best around!
Dropped off a deer for smoked sausage, the sausage we got back is EXTREMELY smokey! It has a very strong smoke smell as soon as you open the pack. The wife and I both got indigestion when we tried to eat it. The reason for this poor review is not the excessively smoked meat, but how the unprofessional blond handled the situation. The first time I stopped to speak with someone they weren't available, so the dark haired lady took my number and said the owner would call me and would make it right one way or another. Well, I never got the call. When I returned today, they immediately recognized me and said "they were very busy". Now...when I tried to explain to the blond, (the one that took my order) she immediately caught an attitude and said "it's smoked meat, it's going to be smokey." She then proceeded to ask me if I'm an avid hunter and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. I've been hunting 40 plus years and ALWAYS get smoked sausage and have never had sausage this smokey. All she wanted to do was argue that "smoke can't cause indigestion or heart burn". I even showed her this picture of how the sausage left smoke soot on the cutting board and it was straight out of the pack, not after I cooked it. This lady became irate and was the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with! I'm blown away at how this business completely blew me off, didn't even attempt to call me as they said they would, then became aggressive when I tried to speak to them. There are a 101 ways this could have been resolved professionally, but they chose to be trashy. Horrible experience from this place.

First time few years ago bought a cow was very good. About a year ago I purchased A quarter cow it was very tough most of the meat we gave away or cooked as soup had a wild tates. I asked the lady today about it said that it was touch she asked what kind I got I said I think grass fed whatever you had in bundle. I was told this was normal. Today I purchased a whole hog. Well... I don't think we got our money's worth. No way this was 17 pounds of sausage. i won't be returning after last two orders this was the last straw for me. It was alot of blood dried on packages appears as if someone didn't care about presentation. Also this maybe normal I am not sure the smoked ham was loose in the bags not vaccum seals. I have been getting meat from a competitor much better and they actually label everything. I hope they learn a lesson from this I am done after this experience.
The store is absolutely amazing . Very very clean and the staff is as nice as can be Plus they have an amazing selection of high quality meet at great prices
I purchased two racks of beef ribs last weekend and defrosted them in the refrigerator for two days. When I put them on the smoker they were mostly fat and had a slight odor to them and the meat was really dark color. After smoking all day, they really smelled off. Needless to say I threw them in the garbage. I won’t be shopping there again. I suspect they were beyond thier sell date.
Love this place. Johnson’s Meat Market has the best quality meat. Anyone who says bad about this business has nothing else to do but tear people down because they will never be satisfied with their boring lives. If you want quality meat, Johnson’s is the way to go.
Took 2 deer to Johnson’s last season and still have meat left! It was horrible!! Had both deer ground into deer ground meat. When we called complaining about him ruining over 80 packs of deer meat, he said he’d regrind it. Sir, how do you grind meat that’s frozen?!! My husband and I were so disappointed. All of our deer are going TJ Armands this year! And in response to your reply… My husband did call you. If you can think back to a year ago. You told him your grinder was grinding meat too fine, you had just ordered a new one. And your butcher was not doing good work. You offered to add more beef fat to it and regrind frozen meat. You know I’m telling the truth and I’m sure you remember us. We were not happy and had given you business before. We purchased a pig from you as well as had meat processed.
The quality of their meat is amazing. I don’t think I will buy grocery store meat again. We have loved everything we’ve purchased, from steak to ground beef, hog head cheese to stuffed jalapeños, it has all been delicious. The prices are great and the staff could not be better. They are helpful, kind and sincerely grateful for your business.
If you bring your deer in for processing, you'll be missing key parts. There are other trusted places nearby for deer processing.
Good place for fresh, farm-raised meat. I mainly go here for soup bones, which are always high quality.
Great selection of local beef and super friendly service. Not much else to say beyond their prices for 1\8 beef are nice, especially now with the price of meat being so high. Would totally recommend splitting a 1\8 or 1\4 with friends or family if you don't have room for it, or doing it for yourself if you do.
I recently ordered 20 pounds of beef bacon and some sirloin steaks from Johnson Farms – I could not possibly be more impressed.. this is by far the best tasting beef I have ever purchased -I’m so thankful that I have found Johnson Farms- I …
Quality meat and good selections. Aubrey is the best
Fantastic meat and great people. Can't beat it.
Always have a great selection and friendly service!
I'm almost 60 years old and this was the best steak I've ever had! Tender juicy flavorful melted in your mouth. I can't wait to try the pork chops I bought from there too!
Decent steak and pasta. Bon appetit and safe travels. Please follow!
This is a wonderful meat market. The quality of beef surpasses all the grocery stores. They'll cut anything you need. We drive up from Slidell every week to restock our freezer. They even have beef bacon which I tried for the first time last week. Very happy this market exists.
