A remarkable farmstead and storefront — family-owned and operated — retailing delicious homemade foodstuffs. The doughnuts are especially exquisite! In May 2022, the Allegany County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location.
My Husband's Favorite Pie is Strawberry rhubarb. Every year I pay a bakery to make him a pie. This year, they forgot... I didn't know what I was going to do. I was searching on Facebook for "bakeries near me" and I happened to see a post for Kum Essa , and there was a photo of a Rhubarb Pie.!!! I have purchased donuts, cookies, and spices from Kum Essa, (with EXCELLENT reviews) but never a pie. I drove up there, and the whole, heavy pie was only $13!!! A five dollar savings. This pie was Packed FULL of HUGE chunks of actual fruits and vegetables. It was NOT like canned pie filling. It was Packed FULL of Flavor!!! My Husband was THRILLED with this pie!!! It was Delicious!!! We will never consider going anywhere else. We Love Supporting Small, Family Businesses, and this one is wonderful. ALWAYS kind, caring, & welcoming. Everyone that works there makes you feel like they want you there. They certainly give you customer service that, unfortunately, too many businesses have done away with. Every product they offer is a generous portion, and you certainly get your money's worth!!! Try them out. You WILL NOT regret it!! Thank you for EVERYTHING Kum Essa!!! Job Well Done. ALWAYS
Great peanut butter whoppie pies & strawberry rhubarb pie. They baked the pies fresh on the day we picked up. Very reasonable prices! Highly recommend it!

Cookies and donuts are good but the salt rising bread is the worst I’ve ever had.Garbanzo beans should never be used in salt rising bread!
Stopped this evening & got a loaf of home made bread. All sliced! Quaint little place. We will be stopping again.
