I never eat pork, unless it comes from Twisted Oaks Meats. I know it's clean meat. Getting grassfed beef and pastured pork delivered to us in Iowa City is priceless.

Our search for a grass-fed/pastured meat source started after receiving medical advice of the health benefits of meat from animals fed a nutrient-rich/pastured grass diet. We were fortunate to find Jamie and Iowa Farm Fresh Meats/Twisted Oaks—locally! With our first order, we were struck at the great flavor of the meat as compared with the mass produced/feed-lot meat generally commercially available. The products and service provided by this locally owned/operated small farmer operation are excellent.

I love Jaime and Twisted Oaks Meats! I have been with them since they started their grass-fed beef practices. Everything is great quality, and she is easy to reach! I have also really enjoyed the turkeys and chickens. The quality difference between this and store-bought meat is astounding!! A few years ago, I hosted a large gathering and cooked 3 turkeys. The turkey soup made with the farm turkeys vs. the store turkey was shocking!! The fat in the store turkeys looked yellow and gross, compared to the richness and flavor of the farm turkeys. Highly recommend for your health and the health of the planet!

Hand delivered grass fed, humanly raised meats raised outdoors in the Iowa sunshine! Who could ask for anything better! The bacon is to die for, chops and steaks are delicious and we got some brats that were the best I’ve ever had. I usually don’t like them and my husband said I’d better try them. So delicious! Excited for some maple sausage! This is the kind of place you want to support.

I love my meat from Twisted Oaks Meats! I feel like it nourishes my whole family and I don't have to worry about feeding my family high fat, hormone saturated meat that is sold in the groceries. I love that they deliver so I don't have to worry about travelling to pick it up. The meat is high quality and tastes so good.

The first time we put a pound of Twisted Oaks ground beef in the skillet, we both were just in awe of how good it looked! The taste did not disappoint, either. The owners are also so kind and helpful with whatever we ask for. I'm about to order more tonight!

Full disclosure, they currently offer a coupon for a review, but they do not ask for any certain rating. And frankly (beef frank-ly), I would happily give a 5-star review regardless. I really enjoyed my last order from them and want more. My favorite: the cheddar brats. I intended to eat them in buns with ketchup, but wow, those would do their flavor such a disservice. Best enjoyed plain to really take it in; I kept going "yum" aloud! It was also so interesting how visually different their ground beef was from cheap store-bought kinds. Very unalike in color and consistency. And the ham and swiss sticks I got really did remind me of sliders on Hawaiian rolls--sweet and savory. I recommend Twisted Oaks, especially because they are convenient with their online shop, they answer questions quickly, they seem to treat their animals very well and are happy to show off pictures of the farm, they work toward sustainable agriculture, and because I love supporting local businesses and getting good food in return. Give them a try.
