Thank you so much to Happy Hens & Highlands Farm. We took a farm tour this week & it was absolutely amazing. My husband thought I was crazy for wanting to do this, but he loved it just as much as I did! Our tour guide Kasey was so kind & knowledgeable. She didn’t hesitate to answer any of our 1000 questions. The cows are so incredibly sweet & obviously well loved. We could have easily stayed the entire day. Thanks for helping me check “hugging a Highland” off my bucket list. 🪣📋✅🐮
It was such a beautiful experience. So many gorgeous Highland Cows - well loved and taken care of. We got to pet them, brush them, take photos with them… and there were calves! The tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable as well. I will definitely go again and tell all my friends. Thank you!
Hi! We had an amazing time visiting Happy Hens & Highlands Farm. All the cows were out roaming and sitting around the pasture. They are all outside so prepare for any weather. I would suggest to bring a towel to sit on when you get back to the car. Some wet wipes to clean your hands would be helpful as well. Emily told us about all the cows. I was a little nervous to walk over to a cow at first and she went with me and encouraged me. I was hoping to be able to get closer to the babies. We were able to get about 5 feet from them. They were adorable to watch and take pictures of.
What a great way to meet these sweet, beautiful cows! Our private tour with Kasey was wonderful! She is so knowledgeable about the cows, because she has been helping to take care of these cows for years. It's a great way to learn about Scottish Highlands if you are considering purchasing some, and it's a fun outing with friends and family if you just want to love on some sweet cows. It was so satisfying getting to comb them. We even got to see a baby cow that was just born the night before. And we got to love on a 6 month old calf. Emily, the owner, was very communicative and the arrangements were very easy to set up. Overall, Happy Hens and Highlands is a well-run, professional group of people, in a casual, farm setting by a creek with lots of shade. Worth the price of admission! Be prepared to get a little muddy, and love every minute!
I’ve been following this farm for years on social media, dreaming of one day visiting. Emily (owner) and Kasey (tour guide) were amazing to work with and made my dream of visiting this farm a reality! I could not have imagined a more perfect tour and experience with the highland coos. Run, don’t walk… and support this farm and all they are doing - especially educating the public about these beautiful creatures!
Very sweet cows! I took my fiancé as a Valentine's Day surprise and we loved petting and grooming the highland cows. The staff was also very friendly!
I LOVED the cows!!! Too bad it was cold and windy but got to pet and brush a few.
This is a hard review to write, as the cows roam freely and we love that for them but it wasn't really the experience we had anticipated. The photos on the website did not depict the experience we had and there was nothing on their site or when booking about the possibility that we may not have much interaction with the cows. There is a large pasture off of a heavily wooded area and when we were there, all but one cow were in the heavily wooded area. It was difficult to navigate due to the mud, river, terrain, trees, etc. Kasey was very nice and mentioned they like to spend the day in the woods. Again, this would have been helpful to know when booking the experience. I definitely would NOT recommend for those with mobility issues as you need to ride in an ATV to get to the area and may need to navigate terrain to see the cows. It was something we drove out of the way for and had we known this, we would have saved our time and money.
We visited Happy Hens & Highlands Farm in December 2021, and were very impressed with everything about the farm, the Highland cows, and the hosts - Adam & Emily. We ended up buying two cows which were delivered to TN the next day. Those two girls have become our favorites! We have visited other farms (and purchased cows elsewhere), but we keep coming back because nothing compares to the experience at Happy Hens & Highlands! They are always willing to help and provide guidance to us (as well as other Highland owners). Their presence at the Jonesborough St Paddy’s Day event was a huge success! People (including our granddaughter who has constant access to Highlands) were lined up down the block to see and love on their sweet calves. What a testament to the loving attention they pour into their cows! We highly recommend Happy Hens & Highlands for purchase of cows, or for a fun activity with friends and family!
Happy Hens & Highlands has the cutest cows! Adam and Emily are quite knowledgeable and are happy to answer any questions. I love that they have farm visits so you can get close to the cows. Their cows are also super sweet and love to be brushed and given treats. Frequently they have photo sessions with cows and that's super fun, especially with the babies, because who can resists those? Definitely try and make it out if you are in the area, or if you see them going to a function! :)
