I am not one to leave a review but I was actually astonished by the way the phone call was handled. I will be honest I did call 3 times. My husband and I drove an hour to the farm and we didn’t want to just turn around before speaking with someone (admittedly, I should have called before driving over there). I did check the website and it said they were open. Generally, my family eats pretty healthy but we have never bought meat straight from a farm. So, we are very new to the way it works. I spoke to a few local farms earlier this morning and they stated to come out and we could buy from what they had in stock but at the time they are limited for about a week. My husband is having some health issues so we did the research and buying straight from a farmer was a direction we decided to go. When I called Hagen Farms the last call a women picked up and immediately said “Is this an emergency, you are blowing up my phone”. At first I thought I had the wrong number but I said to her “I am trying to reach Hagen Farms” she said “that is me” I then apologized and stated that we we had driven out to the farm but were not sure how the process works. She said to me “you can’t do that” I apologized again and she stated “why can’t you just leave a message I am in the middle of something” and hung up (mind you the tone was not as subtle). After she hung up my husband said “now we know where not to go”. Just a note as stated in the picture below it does say “Hope to see you down on the farm”.

My first beef from Hagen FF; and it's terrible. We purchased a whole cow in July and the beef smells and tastes like fish. We've eaten a few burgers and steaks, but can't stomach it any more. Ended up throwing out 150lbs of beef. Contacted the farm to let them know the issue, no ownership, just deflection, blamed it on my perfectly good working deep freezer. I've purchased 2 cows in the past and have never had beef taste this horrible. If you're looking for quality good tasting beef, look elsewhere. Spending this much money on a gamble simply isn't worth it.

I’ve bought a 1/4 cow, 1/2 lamb, and full lamb from Hagen thus far and have been very impressed with both the lamb and beef. The lamb has not been “gamey” as sometimes people describe the flavor of lamb. The beef has additionally been great and does not have that overly powerful omega 3 flavor that you sometimes can experience.

I have had range fed beef finished with grain from The Dalles where the grass is not very green. Tasted like straight up game. I have also had deer chops from Wisconsin where the best grass in the land grows, and was some of the best meat I have ever had. Then I got some Beef from Hagen farms and you can just tell by the taste and texture that these cows there are extremely happy. I will be getting my beef here from now on.

Excellent beef. Going back for more! Guests have always complimented the steak and burgers. Bought beef here several times and getting another round. Have gotten pig here too and just as delicious. Also, Barbara is so friendly and helpful to work with!

I grew up about 4 miles west of your farm. Drove past your place many times in the 1950's and early 60's. We were up Seattle Hill Road at what is now the corner of 25th Ave SE in Mill Creek. We had a small 8&1/2 acre farm surrounded by the forest and pasture land belonging to Bill Garhardt. Our place was the first house as you came up what was then called Penny Creek Road from the old Bothell-Everett Highway. Your farm and barn, along with the old Tri Way Grange building is about all that is left from the 1950's. So very glad you are still there!
