Green Acres Market is a long-established butcher shop and BBQ restaurant in Ventura County that offers a variety of quality meats, including marinated beef, chicken, sausages, and pork. In addition to their butcher services, they provide prepared meals and catering options, making it a popular spot for both dining and grocery shopping. The market is known for its customer favorites like tri-tip sandwiches and brisket, alongside a selection of health foods and grocery items.
1st lunch outing flying in from Tennessee. This BBQ outdoor restaurant was fabulous. The guy who took our order was very knowledgeable and helpful....he made us feel like we were long time customers. We got the Tri Tip bowl.....it was full of flavor, very plentiful, and the beef was tender. The tater tots were crispy....so many sauces to dip in. It was well worth the money, and would return again.
I’ve been coming here for years but since I just started my google review journey I decided to pop on here after a visit today, hands down the best selection in the area and the prepared food is phenomenal. We’ve gotten our meat and sides here for over 15 years! No place better.
I would have given these guys a five star, until today. I went there to get two plain hamburger patties. Or even just a hamburger, but they don’t barbecue hamburgers after 5 o’clock. What a weird thing! It literally takes 5 to 7 minutes to barbecue a burger and they had plenty of other meat on the grill. Excellent/big burgers (as you can see in the photo taken another day) if you’re not too late! I went away hungry and empty-handed. What a ridiculous thing… to stop making burgers after 5 when you close at 7.
This is a quaint market that’s been around for about 50 years. The finest, old fashioned full service Butcher Shop in Ventura County, with quality meat grades, marinated beef, chicken, sausages and pork. They use the best ingredients and have weekly specials! The Tri-Tip Sandwich is a customer favorite. The one I had wasn’t as juicy as I would have liked. 8/10 I did have a couple employees ask if I needed help. Customer service for BBQ sandwiches was a little slow, even though it wasn’t super busy in the store. Local Express Delivery or Pickleball Up, Meat, Grocery, Produce and BBQ. Catering available.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in simi valley. I love the fresh market and the various health foods they sell. Their brisket is delicious and not dry at all. Big portions for sharing.
The tri tip sandwich and brisket got a lot of praise in the reviews, but the tri tip was thinly sliced like roast beef, and the brisket was stringy like pulled pork. Dry and left much to be desired. Not sure what all the rave was about. The only saving grace is the market inside. They sell some good food at the cold deli area, some good looking meats, and the prepared meals (in front of the deli counter near the entrance) are a nice grab and go option, specifically the pot roast. although, the prepped meals come cold and are not ideal for an on-the-job lunch unless you have a microwave to heat them up in.
One of the best BBQ spots in Simi Valley! Love this spot! I usually end up going with the Tri Tip Sandwich (the roll is garlic bread) combo that comes with 2 sides and a fountain drink. I got the baked beans and mac & cheese. The meal was absolutely delicious! They have several BBQ sauces here and my favorite is the Whiskey Habanero BBQ. Check this spot out cause it rocks!
This place is incredible. I've been stopping by every now and then for a pulled pork sandwich from the BBQ side because they're so damn good, but we just got a new grill and decided to check out the butcher shop too. We got some jalapeño cheddar, hot Italian and hot chicken sausages. Y'all, when I tell you I had a religious experience tonight, I mean it. I saw the meat god and he blessed me with delicious flavors. My wife and I are agreed - we're buying all of our meats here from now on.
I’m a huge fan of BBQ and decided to try Green Acres for lunch . First impressions was good . I could smell the nice oak smoke and see the food on the grill. I ordered the tri tip sandwich . I was not completely satisfied. The portion of meat was sad for the price and I definitely didn’t like how shredded the meat because it took away the flavor and juiciness i was expecting nice thick cut tri tip pieces. I honestly don’t know how this establishment has 5 stars. Ive had BBQ in about 17 states and this falls below the top 10. Overall It just doesn’t taste like bbq to me.
Top notch Santa Maria tri-tip at the sandwich counter outside! These guys know what they're doing! I was very impressed that their sandwiches have shaved tri-tip which is tough to do but makes for a more tender sandwich. 10/10, check them out for sure! Also, there is more selection of bottled drinks, chips, and sides inside the market.
