Gold Feather Farms

Eggs arrive in perfect condition. They had special egg holders that were in a snug box to prevent them from moving. They were then placed in another box and bubble wrap to protect everything. There was not a single that was cracked. Shipping speed was relatively good, considering being fall and chickens tend to not lay as well. I ordered on Friday, eggs were shipped that Wednesday and I paid $45 to have them shipped express so they arrived Friday. My only complaint is the communication with the farm. They are very hard to get a hold of. They have someone else replying to messages so they have to them contact the breeder and then the breeder gets back to them, who in return gets back to you.

I ordered 6 eggs to hatch under my broody hens and only 2 made it. 3 were not fertilized and one died half way thru the process. I was not told that my order had to be picked up at the post office. And after spending $55 dollars to overnight the eggs it would have been nice to have had that information ahead of time.

I'm unable to comment on the hatch rate or quality of their chick's, as my egg order isnt shipping for a couple weeks. Knowledge of this, would have been great when I ordered. However, I emailed, I called a few times, to no avail. When I reached out on Facebook I was able to get in touch with someone who manages their page. I asked to cancel my order, as I really don't want to wait for eggs. I was told they would send a message to the owner. When I followed up the next day, I was told the message was still unread.... I am yet to hear back from anyone still. This is horribly poor customer service. I just hope the eggs hatch when I get them.

Gold Feather Farms is a world class farm. The whole process was outstanding! I was able to call and talk to the owner each time (only admitting to a couple...will say 4 times lol). All at different times of the day and week. However, the more important part...birds are PERFECT quality and shipped with all quality shipping products needed for healthy arrival. I am a very dedicated and caring breeder myself, that said, Gold Feather Farms is right up there with the BEST! This farm is sooo amazing, I can not believe they even have stock to sell. Will continue to purchase every year.

I will echo another review. Our chicks came in and look healthy and happy. All of them seem very lively! The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is thier communication could be improved some. Even though it may have taken a few hours, they did call me back. I would have liked to have quicker responses via phone and Facebook, but at least they responded! I will buy from them again.

I ordered 12 Opal Legbar egg and had a 100% hatch rate.
