Fondomonte Arizona LLC is a farm primarily focused on growing alfalfa, which is then shipped overseas, particularly to Saudi Arabia, for livestock feed. The business has faced significant criticism regarding its water usage practices in Arizona, with concerns about the impact on local water resources. While the farm employs local workers, the primary operations seem to cater to foreign livestock needs rather than local markets.
Zero stars. Whatever happened to 'just because you can doesn't mean you should'? Shame on anyone involved in this disgusting abuse of water usage. Shame on anyone who could help correct this and does not. Disgusting morals and business ethics.
The extra star is for the American employees that work there. They deserve something. Otherwise, this place is just another American giveaway to foreign entities in the form of precious Arizona water. Aren't Americans nice? We'll die of thirst before letting Saudi cows die of hunger. Thanks to state and federal governments, they're giving away the farm, literally. How's about letting the Chinese in on the freebees? They've taken everything else - why not water, too? When all the water is gone and the state dries up, the people born and raised here will just have to go somewhere else. So keep your recyclable bags packed and EV charged up! Our most precious resource given away to "people" who could care less if Arizona, and the US, dies.
Saudi farm for Saudi cows to get alfalfa their own country has banned since it uses too much water for the desert country to support. Hmmm. Makes you think. Wells are going dry and these desert companies are sucking the water out faster than it replenishes. Thank Ducey for giving this foreign company a sweetheart deal that their water consumption isn't even metered or monitored. Thank you Katie Hobbs for saying this is a "sensitive issue" while dragging her heels to do anything despite Colorado River Basin ranking among the world’s most water-stressed regions. Water Wars are very real and happening down the street.
Saudi alfalfa farm stealing our water. They should be kicked out of the states and forced to use their own arid land to feed their cows. Complete garbage from our so called "representatives".
Grow your alfalfa in Saudi Arabia. Stop using our water. What is wrong with the Arizona state land department representatives? And given at lower than market prices...what are you people thinking?
Shame on the state of Arizona for renting land to this company and allowing them to take precious water from the American desert for use overseas in the middle east. Outrageous. Fondomonte should not operate another day.
This company is saudi-owned and shipping alfalfa overseas while depleting millions of gallons of water! TRUCKERS! STEP UP AND BOYCOTT THIS FARM! DON'T TAKE LOADS FROM HERE, OR DELIVER HERE!
Saudi Arabian owned company wasting our Arizona water to grow crops for feeding their livestock oversees
Well managed and a great source of employment for the locals. Hundreds more people would end up on government assistance if the politicians were to shut it down.
I'm not even US citizen but, not prioritizing water supplies to locals first? It's so ridiculous and shame.
Been here since 1130 am...loaded quick..but every truck in front of us was over loaded..that included us as well...then they are us go back to the end of the line after sliding tandem..now our hours of driving have been wasted..it's now 230pm and finally leaving
They're a bunch of crooks stealing water from the Arizona aquifer,, and they're growing alfalfa and sending it to Saudi Arabia from Arizona aquifer
Just saw something very alarming that this farm is being leased by Saudis for next to nothing while pumping water from the 8 wells taking from the water needed for a big town near by wow someone should do something a out this
Truck entrance 1/4 mile south of gate, turn in early or you'll be circling back. They have this down. Scale empty/load(less than 10 min)/scale loaded and out in under 50 min.
Thanks Gov Ducey for giving this company free water and a lease they aren't even paying.
Arizona water belongs to the people of Arizona, not Saudi Arabia.
My kids like to stop and talk to the cows when we travel. The cows are inquisitive and friendly.
Stealing water from locals to grow alfalfa for cows in Saudi Arabia
I love working with these guys. Office staff is very friendly and professional. They will never over-load you.
Awesome service 10/10 would let them steal my drinking water again
