Five Rivers Cattle Feeding - McElhaney Feedyard is a large cattle feeding operation that primarily focuses on raising cattle for beef production. The business appears to be a corporate feedlot, where thousands of cattle are housed and fed, likely for eventual sale as beef products. The reviews indicate a mix of opinions on the conditions of the facility and the treatment of the animals.
Wish I could give zero stars. Horrible conditions for cows packed in tight in 100 degree weather. Tons of land around the cows see but not experience. The smell is horrible.
This operation is beyond the capacity that should be legal. Corporate greed like this is destroying family farms. What an eyesore and nose sore for people living and traveling in this area. Calling this a “ranch” is hilariously stupid. I guess if you breathed in this much methane, you’d forget what words mean too.
just drove past this prison. cows are meant to be grazing in fields, not locked up. thousands upon thousands just baking in the sun. the air smells horrendous. eat local, not from corporations like this. sad site to see
The complaints about the smell are ridiculous. Have you ever been to Dog Beach in San Diego? Now that stinks!!!
I deliver cow feed here just about every day. The place looks clean and organized. I see these negative comments but they are just animal rights junkies. At the end of the day the cows get fed and raised for a reason. This location is not too bad. The pens look pretty clean and organized. I’m not sure who they sell to or not at the end of the it’s not my problem. I have nothing bad to say about this place and to deliver here the ladies at the scale house make it every delivery run smoothly.
Eat local from local farms NOT CORPORATIONS that pollute the air we breath. Seriously sickening having to drive past. Horrible place. **LOOK at the satellite views to grasp how many cows at this feed lot. Food in the gas comes out...the stench gas clouds are physically visible to the naked eye when traveling past. Only eat farm raised, grass fed LOCAL beef!!
It smells like death, and I’ve never seen so many cows in my life. So unnatural and unhealthy. Someone should investigate! Eat local!
They have the best beef and are helpful very professional
I wouldn't give it one star but there is no other choice. It is a terrible operation which has grown to the thousands since I first posted it 3 years ago. Owned by the largest supplier of beef, JB out of Brazil, it should make everyone give up beef unless grass fed in pastures instead of penned up like sardines by the thousands in extreme desert heat. Inhumane, unhealthy, and inhuman, a disgrace to humanity.
Funny how Google says they will post your comments and reviews but won't add your "not helpful" thumbs down...only thumbs up are allowed on all the bogus SJW's reviews pushing the approved agenda against the beef industry and cattle ranchers. I wonder who pays them to trash this ranch? Is it Google or the United Nations? Is there a difference?

Jbs Five Rivers Cattle Feeding LLC is a huge area with thousands of young bulls contained in pens under this extreme Arizona sun. There is very little shade provided for these animals forced to withstand the summer temperatures that climb to 120° +. Not a fan of corporate feed lots due to the inhumane treatment of the animals and Five Rivers is one of the largest corporate feeders in the world. Shame on you.
Very poor conditions for the animals in the sun, desert gets up to 110 if not more with very lil shading for them. Typical business only cares about making $ & not taking better care of their cows
Just drove by this place. Very disappointing to see that many animals forced to stand around in the sun and heat. I enjoy beef, but not from this dump.
Looks like horrible conditions for animals to live in. As much as i love beef i can't stand to imagine that this is necessary. Packed like sardines in 113 degrees.
Poor dust control management blankets 10 square miles of poop dust and they do not care
Best Meat in the business today. Great care and pleasure given in doing what they do best.
Most of the reviewe rs are city folk that have NO knowledge of ANY animal husbandry.
I used to deliver to this place I the early 90's awesome place
Big business but stinky haha
