If you want a wider selection of meats(and Im talking way more variety and different grades) that doesn’t taste old and looks old in the case head over to The Butchery in Danvers. This guy tried but it might be time for him to move on…..
First city meats is the best butcher shop in the Boston area. Incredible selection of local beef, chicken, pork, etc. I have gotten custom cuts I have never tried in my life here. The beef is some of the best I’ve EVER had in my life. Incredible sausages as well. You really can’t go wrong here, just an incredible local business selling excellent quality products. Josh is the man. He'll sell you the perfect cut of meat and tell you exactly how to prepare it. He also partnered with the local food bank so you can help support the community while getting the best steaks, sausage, roasts, and poultry around.
Today is the second time I’ve been at this market. I’ve lived down the street for years and never knew they were there. I requested some lamb shakes that are very hard to find and the gentleman there explain to me what time of the year they come in so I went in today to pick them up, not to mention the price was phenomenal and the meat is absolutely delicious. For those of you who never been in there the minute you walk in the door you can smell the freshness of the meat. Thank you guys. You’re doing a great job. We should all be supporting our small businesses in our city and this is definitely the place to go. I’ll be back.
Great shop, owner is very friendly and informative. In addition to the usual meats, he had different types of stew bones, lard, and tallow as well as home made sausages (both beef and pork). The flatiron steak cooked up beautifully on my cast iron as he advised. I can't wait to go back for more!
