Firebird's Meat Market

Hands down best filet cut I’ve ever had in my entire life. When you’re in San Diego you eat fish, when you’re in Oklahoma you eat steak, and there’s no better place to get steak than firebirds! Brenda was incredibly nice and exceptionally helpful when I called ahead of time. I can’t say enough good things about the meat here. It’s worth the drive, trust me.

This meat market was okay. The prices in my opinion were high for meat that isn’t even local. They have to buy their meat elsewhere because they aren’t allowed to purchase meat from anyone who isn’t USDA CERTIFIED. Our purpose was to find meat from local farmers to give back to our community. Their prices were cheaper than some farmers we called. The chicken breasts didn’t taste any different than the store bought. We did buy some steaks but we haven’t tried them yet. It’s for a party this weekend. The lady was nice but if my husband wouldn’t have seen it she was about to charge us for an extra thing of steak that we didn’t even buy. My husband caught it after she finished ringing us up. They didn’t seem to have a large selection compared to other meat markets we’ve been to closer to Tulsa. I’m not sure that we would be back. But if you’ve never been there you should check them out.

Friendly staff, open to questions, good prices for quality. Try the brisket poppers. They were great. I may try to make my own next time.

The carne asada was amazing amd tinder! The ribeyes grilled up nicely and the seafood stuffed jalapenos were on point ❤ The shop was clean and tidy and they offered a nice variety of rubs and sauces. We will be back for more

The people here are so friendly and helpful. Went in the first time recently and got a filet, ribeye and NY strip as each of us has different preferences in steaks. The quality of their meat is phenomenal and all I had to put on my filet was salt & pepper for seasoning. Seared it in a cast iron and finished it off in the oven. Simply perfect and tender! We also tried the garlic and herb chicken which was amazing as well. The bacon wrapped asparagus was pretty spicy for me but still great quality and flavor. I will be continuing to go here each and every time I want a steak or just something with great quality. They even have sides and some produce as well!

I have been to Firebirds several times over the past couple of years and I'm sorry to say that the last three times I went was for sirloin steaks and they either had two or three small, gristley ones or just what appeared to be scraps of steaks. No one was even in the front the last time I went in so I left. Their ground beef is so fatty that when it's cooked there is about 2 ozs. less weight than before it was cooked. Tired of trying to trade with them.

Holy cow (no pun intended). I have lived in OKC for a little over 3 years now and have been searching for a local butcher shop that carries high quality steaks and meats. I have finally found what I've been looking for with Firebirds. They carry Wagyu brisket, Prime grade steaks, and an assortment of chicken and even some seafood. The guy working the counter (believe his name may have been Brad) was super helpful. I think their prices are fair for the quality of meat you are getting. If they keep this up they will keep my business. Also, they have new hours, which I will post in my photos below. Last thing, the door handle is a cleaver, which I thought was a nice touch. Bravo to the owners of this place you've knocked it out of the park.

This is the only place I will go buy meat that I smoke. The owner has done multiple things to assist me that he didn’t have to do. Fantastic people here and even better meat!

Tri-tip. Best cut in Oklahoma. This coming from a California family. Highly recommend this place. If you're looking for a butcher you can trust, this is the one.

Loved the layout of the place. Very cleanly. Good selection of meat & great quality. The owners were very friendly & welcoming. Purchased 2 New York strips & it did not disappoint. Will definitely be back. We live an hour out & I would say it’s worth the drive.
