Charming town and a highly recommended meat market. My pastrami sandwich came out lukewarm, and when I asked to have it toasted, I was told they only reheat in the microwave, which made the French roll soggy. That was a bit disappointing. On the positive side, the cashier was very kind and even said, “we make everything with love,” which I truly appreciated. But please invest in a toaster oven.

Chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato and a bit of mayonnaise on sourdough only cost $9 or $10.80 with tax Good decent substantial sandwich. I should have got chips cuz it goes well with the sandwich like this. Was just traveling through and this was part of the road trip for Family matters. Have a lot of choices, if it wasn't for my heart I would have taken the roast beef

Stopped in for a turkey sandwich and was shocked to see the woman behind the counter didn’t wash her hands or wear gloves after handling money before making my food. When I asked about it, she quipped, “I’ve been washing my hands all day.” That’s not how hygiene works — especially in a meat shop where cross-contamination is a real risk. Food safety matters. This was not only unprofessional, but also a potential health code violation. I left completely uncomfortable and won’t be returning. Do better.

We were passing through and we love to hit up local butcher shops. They hand cut and seasoned a couple of filets on the spot, grilled them that night at our camping spot, fantastic. Thank you for the friendly service.

The best thing about this place is the price. $8 for a roast beef sandwich, $1 each for chips and a can of pop. Service is slow, the sandwich was just so-so, although it did have a lot of meat (6 slices of beef). There is also some concern regarding health and safety. There was a guy grinding meat and guiding out of the grinder with his bare hand. The woman preparing the sandwich wore no gloves despite handling money and answering the phone while preparing the food.

I was hoping to find a deli and take a sandwich to the beach. I found the perfect place. Made to order, with tasty meat. Two meats for $8.50. I couldn't eat it all. Also, just a cool shop to check out. And, if your going to be cooking, the butcher meats were not overly priced, about the same, or less than a supermarket. Check it out.

I don't recommend shopping there.They sure don't make you feel welcome. Especially if you are from a minority group. They let you know right away. At least that has been my experience when Trish is there.

Disregard this last persons comment! I’ve seen a few reviews of places in this town that complain about “localism”... my wife and I are passing through, staying for a week at a local Airbnb and everywhere we’ve went in this town so far we haven’t had a negative interaction... this place included. Never ordered here before and didn’t know for sandwich’s you needed to fill out a paper slip on the counter. A woman sitting in the dining room didn’t take more than a minute to jump out of her seat and help us understand the proper ordering method (she clearly worked there). Good options for sandwiches, drinks, chips, and other snacks. The paper slip allows you to essentially build your own sandwich, I personally love this. Good meat portion sizes and we thought the quality was top notch. We would certainly come back. Don’t let people’s assertiveness(or lack there of) deter you from forming your own opinions.

Their sandwiches are great, I look forward to eating here again.

Always friendly service. Fresh meat is always better than processed. I have never bought a bad piece of meat from these folks. Try them, you won't be disappointed.

Great sandwiches. Guy has such a good reputation. All the support from the Ferndale community is definitely well deserved. A more friendly person at the counter would probably make a difference. I will still buy meat and sandwiches there.

A more friendly counter person might be beneficial. I used to go to Loleta Meat all the time and loved it. Recently ordered prime rib for Christmas and it was no good. The meat was old and dry. Completely ruined our family Christmas dinner. I tried calling and no response. Very disappointing.
