We love everything from Butcher Block! Out of everyone in the family, our puppy loves it most. The bones keep him busy and happy for hours (and keep his teeth clean). He got neutered today and this is how I’m keeping him from running around the house.

I brought my first Kentucky deer here for process. I’m from out of state. They are very detailed with the butchering process on how you want it processed. They have very good packaging all steaks and roasts are vacuum sealed and the grind is put into tubes. They over charged me. Charged me 72 bucks over. I asked the lady checking me out about it and she insisted that was the price instead of asking someone more knowledgeable. It seems they have some inexperienced people working there. They did make it right and refunded me the money but it would be nice to have knowledgeable staff from the get go. Other than that they only offer one grind product so you can only get grind, breakfast sausage, summer sausage and that’s it. As in if you pick breakfast sausage that’s all you get for grind nothing else. In my opinion it’s not that hard after you grind meat to make a few different products especially for the price you pay for it. I paid 160 bucks for a basic package. Roasts backs straps,tenderloin,leg roasts and grind with 10 percent pork fat. Honestly most processors charge about 70-95 bucks for that. Not a great experience it it’ll do if you are early season hunting and don’t have much time to cut it up yourself.

I would like to rate at 5 stars, but I can't. Meat The meat is good. I have no issues with that. Selection The selection could be better. I have to ask for some cuts that should be stock item, such as tri-tip, big meaty beef ribs, etc. Price The prices are what they are. I find them acceptable, but if you're a "too pricey" person you'll likely need to go elsewhere. They do have good sales, though. Service Having owned and run many retail businesses I would NEVER allow someone to answer the phones or appear behind the counter who cannot answer simple questions. I hear "I don't know" most of the time. Yes, they will go the back and see if someone can provide an answer, but oftentimes I need to ask them to do it. My suggestion to the owners is to train your people to be knowledgeable about your business. Take them in the back and let them see and learn about how meat is cut and what the cuts are. Have them cut meat with a qualified butcher just to get the picture in their heads about what they're selling.

Worst butcher we’ve taken animals to. Did a steer fall of 2022 that we got much less meat back compared to the hanging weight, and hidden fees on, and just took up two hogs for clients this December. High prices with ridiculous charges, one client didn’t get any bacon from their hog even though it was ordered on the cut sheet, the client that did get their bacon it was all clumped in a small bag and thin cut so it fell apart trying to get any out. Two experiences and both very unsatisfactory, will never use them again and definitely don’t won’t recommend for processing. Beef & Bacon in Calhoun is much easier to communicate with, does an amazing job with the cuts and packaging, and we never have to question if we get all our meat or not. Definitely discouraged with Butcher Block.

Great prices. Wish they had more bundle deals frequently . Since I'm driving from an hour away. I love knowing my food is locally sourced. Great quality. Customer service is on the spot. Friendly, efficient will definitely continue doing business with them.

960 lbs beef yielded 340lbs of cut beef. All while they told me it cut out to 58%. Math doesn’t add up. Plus missing cuts I asked for. Watch taking your livestock in there. Get every weight from the very beginning. I was warned and didn’t listen.

First time going here and I plan on coming back. Not only are the prices good, but the service is amazing. When asked if I found everything alright, I mentioned I couldn't find a product, they went to the back to get me some. Both the ladies who were working today are wonderful for going above and beyond in customer service!

Place lost my business Hamburgers Had brown spot in it Took it back and they said it was good The boston but had a bad smell to it And the way did I understand this is not the first time. This has happened. I do not know how this place is staying in business
