Fairholm Farm Inc

We love the meat from Fairholm Farm! The burgers are a family favorite, the steaks are excellent, and the chicken is the best my husband and I have ever had. You can taste the difference compared to store bought, and it is clear the animals are very well cared for. They also offer CSAs, and I just noticed signs for turkeys which we are looking forward to trying this year. We also love the local ice cream they carry (Connecticut really does make some of the best) and we even tried their fertilizer/manure in our garden this year. The difference was significant; last year I had one pumpkin, this year I have seven:-) I like look for places who give back when I shop, and while locals already know this, I wanted to include for those outside the northeast corner, Fairholm Farm helps educate others on agriculture through camps, 4H, and the Woodstock Fair; you also see their contributions in local fundraisers:-) There is probably more but that is what I know. Side note as at one point I was unsure ~ When you see their sign, just turn in, pull up right in front of the store to park and head in.

Update to my original review below... As of a couple or so years ago, they do now sell direct to the public. Per below, I highly recommend you pay a visit. Products are superb (not just 'very good'... but superb). Simple examples like cooking some hamburger or other meats in a pot for pasta sauce... one immediately sees the difference in that they have not rendered out 1/3rd the weight into in the sauce pot as water and grease. ++++++++++++++++++ Great family operated dairy farm. The owners have been quite nice to provide tours for local groups interested in viewing a dairy operation. Cows seem quite happy there and well cared for. The owners take pride in their operation. Also a beautiful setting. Although they do not sell direct to the public, we should all support the family operated dairy farms... these in turn support our open spaces. Would you rather see 150 acres of 3/4 acre house lots, or open space ??? Buy Dairy !!!!

Has EXCELLENT milk fed pork and grass fed beef. We have been very pleased with the selections
